About the adventure

and the reason for this high murder rate is darker than anyone realizes. As elderly members of the Murder Mavens book club, you and your friends are occasionally asked to investigate these murders and find clues that help solve the case. Of course, you will sometimes find clues that point to a much bigger conspiracy...which you can only speculate about for now. Each Brindlewood Bay mystery is designed so that the players interpret the clues to decide on a theory of the case--and the game's unique mechanics help tell the story and determine if the theory is correct. The tone of this game is alternately cozy and creepy, inspired by shows such as Murder, She Wrote, and Lovecraftian tales.

About me

The first time I walked into a game store in 1992 and learned to play D&D, I was immediately hooked. Not on the game--that came later--but on the energy of the place, on the shared community, and on those beautiful, clicky-clacky dice! TTRPGs quickly became my favorite form of entertainment, and within a couple of years I was running games of my own. I continued running them through college, marriage, and the start of my family, but after my second child was born we moved away and I hung up my GM hat until 2020. I later discovered 5th edition online, and it re-ignited my passion for the hobby. This version of D&D is closer to the way I like to play than any other, so I started DMing again in 2021. I jumped on board with SPG in 2023, and I love having this chance to connect with new players, start new games, and tell new stories together!

What Krystal brings to the table

⭐ A safe, encouraging space for inter-party roleplay. ⭐ Creative, out of the box ideas, and the ability to flexibly respond to player choices ⭐ Special voices/characteristics for many NPCs. ⭐ Immersive music. ⭐ A dynamic game experience. This is one of my greatest strengths: I'm never static as a GM; I'm always researching, learning, growing, collecting new ideas and content, responding to player feedback.

How Krystal creates a safe table

This game is rated: PG-13 This game is for players 18+, but does not contain adult content. As a female gamer, I know how hard it can be to take a chance on a new group. My number one priority is that everyone at the table feels safe and comfortable, so that everyone has a great time. To ensure this, I have strong table and server rules that I enforce as needed. In addition, I work to make sure my games and my community are friendly to those with neurodivergence. To achieve this, we continue to offer each other grace and patience, and to provide accommodations and supportive tools at the table as needed.
