About the adventure
You feel a pull, as though something has grabbed your very soul and leads you by it, dragging you on through creeping fog and swirling mist. And then through the grey, you see it... Barovia. A gothic land untethered from space and time. A land overshadowed by its strange and mysterious ruler, Strahd Von Zarovich. Its people speak of him in whispers, if it all, and yet his influence is everywhere. Dark Powers are at work in this place, and its inhabitants are too afraid or too entrenched in the vile magics to stop them. But you are not of this place, not bound by its rules... Can you end the reign of terror and free Barovia?

About me
I'm an experienced GM who's been telling stories since 1995; and telling them in the form of TTRPGs since 2010. I always wanted to write for a living and I kept hearing about D&D; these mythical games where the goal was slaying monsters, saving the world and above all weaving a legendary tale with friends, but it took me over a decade to find an actual table to join. When I heard about Startplaying I couldn't wait to sign up and make these games that I love accessible to everyone that wants to play. Creating your character
I'd encourage you to have a concept of a character (charming rogue, studious wizard etc) for the session 0 but you don't need to fill out a character sheet yet and I can help you do that during the session 0. No classes, races or spells are off limits but bear in mind the people of Barovia are simple and mostly human. They are aware that elves and dwarves exist but some of the more exotic races may seem strange or supernatural to them, and they are terrified of the strange and supernatural.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need Discord for voice and video and Roll20 for maps, tokens and dice-rolling. As long as you have discord I can talk you through setting up Roll20.
What Aidan's Adventures brings to the table
You will get access to my d&d library through a shared compendium on Roll20, custom soundscapes in session to increase immersion, maps and my decades worth of experience with TTRPGS
Homebrew rules
We use Perkins Crits and a homebrew potion rule at my table but we'll go over that during the session 0
