About the adventure
Alice Is Missing is a deeply atmospheric roleplaying game about a group of teenagers dealing with the disappearance of their friend, Alice Briarwood. If you enjoy games such as Life is Strange, with their focus on teenage relationships, small-town drama, secrets and emotionally charged conversations, this aims for a very similar feeling. You will choose one of several characters connected to Alice, such as her older brother, her best friend, her secret girlfriend or someone hiding a crush on her. You will also establish links to the other characters and secrets involving Alice, giving you plenty to talk about as the story unfolds. For 90 minutes, the game is played entirely through text messages, with group chats, private conversations, arguments and confessions shaping how your characters experience the night. All of this is accompanied by a soundtrack designed around the game, creating a quiet, melancholic atmosphere as the randomly generated story gradually unfolds around you.

About me
Hey! I’m Liam. When I’m not managing a class of 9-year-olds, I’m running tabletop RPGs and telling stories with people around the table. I regularly run in-person games at local stores, board game cafés and even the occasional medieval castle! When I’m not rolling dice in person, I run games online through Roll20 and Discord, including long-running groups with players spread across two continents. My games are story-focused, character-driven and usually filled with plenty of humour, horror and usually an equal measure of both. I love creating interesting encounters, memorable characters and giving players the freedom to make choices that genuinely shape the story. Depending on the game, that might mean high fantasy adventure, cosy mystery, intrigue or something much darker, with horror and dread creeping in around the edges. I particularly love games with a strong sense of atmosphere and emotion, whether that is exploring the strange whimsy of the Feywild, investigating a murder in Brindlewood Bay or discovering an entirely unexpected story through the choices made at the table. More than anything, my greatest joy as a GM is seeing what happens when a group of people come together and create a story none of us could have told alone. After all, the best tales are told together. For one-shot bookings, I can run 4, 6 or 8-hour sessions depending on what you’re looking for. 4 hours - $20 per player 6 hours - $30 per player 8 hours - $40 per player

Creating your character
Character creation takes place together in a Discord call before the game officially begins. You will first select one of the available characters, each representing a different relationship to Alice, such as her older brother, best friend or secret girlfriend. Each character comes with a background question and a secret for you to consider privately before play. Once everyone has chosen, you will introduce your character to the group and establish their public relationship with Alice. You will then receive prompts that help create connections between the characters, giving you motives, tensions and relationships to bring into the game once the messages begin.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have access to Discord and a web browser, with a device you are comfortable typing on throughout the game. A good pair of headphones is also recommended so you can fully experience the game's soundtrack and atmosphere.
What Tales Told Together brings to the table
I will provide everything needed to play, including access to the digital game room, character and relationship prompts, and the full soundtrack that accompanies the 90-minute game. Before we begin, I will guide everyone through choosing characters, establishing relationships and learning how the game works. I will then facilitate the story as it unfolds, keeping the game moving while giving you space to focus on your character and the conversations happening around you. We will also go through safety tools before play. After the game, there will be a cool-off period where everyone is welcome to return to the Discord call, come out of character and chat about their experiences together.

How Tales Told Together creates a safe table
Before the game begins, we will establish Lines and Veils so everyone can set clear boundaries around content they do not want included or would prefer to remain off-screen. During play, an X-Card will be available at any time if something comes up that anyone is uncomfortable with. After the game, there will also be a cooldown period where everyone is welcome to return to the Discord call, come out of character and chat about their experiences together.
