About the adventure
This is an 18+ Game! A Dark Gothic‑Punk Setting. Werewolf: The Apocalypse takes place in the World of Darkness, a reflection of our own world where corrupt humans, vampires and other supernatural beings secretly exist and pollute the world with apathy, violence and greed. Garou – those born with the curse of lycanthropy – live as part of human or wolf society until their first change, then join their tribe and Auspice. They consider themselves the planet’s immune system, hunting down humans or creatures that intentionally or unwittingly hasten the Apocalypse. The official line from Paradox Interactive captures the tone well: “Be a werewolf. Build your legend, earn renown, and take back a world that is dying. The fight is brutal, and the stakes are everything”. This is a Sandbox chronicle with player‑driven stories. Your pack has freedom to explore, form alliances, and decide which threats to confront. Drawing inspiration from advice on hooking players, I aim to tailor the mood and themes to your tastes and ask what engages you so that the chronicle resonates with your characters. Stories may be rooted in local challenges – such as protecting and growing a newly awakened Caern, cultivating bonds with nearby spirits and NPCs, and navigating mundane politics – or they may become epic quests of atonement, Umbra‑spanning journeys seeking redemption and ancient secrets. If you and your pack prefer proactive warfare, there will be opportunities to strike at the Wyrm’s agents, investigating corporate front companies selling tainted goods and taking the fight to those responsible.

About me
Does immersion mean something to you? Isn’t that why we go to see 3D movies? Or even, spend hundreds of dollars on top-end game systems and virtual reality? I truly believe that is one of the best parts about Tabletop Games in general: the opportunity for immersion on the most human level. My passion is to deliver that exact immersion to my players. I utilize dynamic lighting and effects within my Roll20 games, while sharing custom soundtracks with Syrinscape. I offer memorable NPCs, important conflicts and consequences guaranteed to carry across multiple sessions. I started running my own games in 2006 using White Wolf Publishing materials. Since then, I have also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing from Full Sail University. I use that learning to effectively tailor storylines to my player’s characters. Are you a new player? No worries! I enjoy teaching and helping with rules and online play. When it comes to character creation, I am available to help you find the kind of ideas that make sure you never forget your character! Want to try one of the more experienced games? You’ll get room for complex character arcs, pursuing interesting choices and satisfying challenges. Don’t see a game at the right time? Message me about private bookings or alternative scheduling!

Creating your character
Each character will be created during each Session Zero with each player. We will use the standard point-buy system of the Werewolf: The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Core Book. The systems is designed to make character creation streamlined and straightforward.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
In order to play you will need a Roll20.net account. You will also need an account on Discord, as this will be the primary form of communication in and out of the game itself. All other materials and information for the game will be provided by me for player reference.
What Steve the Storyteller brings to the table
Emphasis on character spotlight and dramatic consequences in a high-stakes world! Your characters’ backgrounds, relationships and goals will shape the direction of the chronicle. I encourage collaborative world‑building – using NPC connections and your own ideas to seed new hooks – and I believe the best plot hooks are questions that spark curiosity and suspense. Expect a mix of tense action, moral dilemmas and metaphysical journeys into the Umbra. Interactions with spirits and Patron Spirits of the eleven tribes will highlight the metaphysical struggle and create room for personal growth and horror. I strive for a player‑friendly game that respects comfort and consent; we will discuss lines, veils, and any sensitive topics before beginning. We’ll use the W20 rules and the Storyteller system (dice pools, successes, and Rage). The tone can shift from fast and vicious to tragic and thought‑provoking based on your feedback. Newcomers to World of Darkness are welcome; complex lore will be introduced gradually, and rules will be explained so that players of any experience level can jump in.

How Steve the Storyteller creates a safe table
I share a Google Doc with all my players that includes a multiple choice questionnaire. This is intended to help better understand any topics or experiences that their characters may encounter that the player would not be comfortable with. I have always maintained an open door policy. I take into account the concerns of my players at all times with professional sincerity. If you are unsure of situations or content that may or may not cause a problem to arise, I do utilize the X, N, and O cards as means to convey this quickly and conveniently.
