About the adventure
Sharn never sleeps, and neither do the powers that move in its shadows. The invitation in your hand offers exactly what you need — whether it is answers, assistance, information, coin, or revenge. You have the time, the place, and the password to a speakeasy hidden behind an unmarked door in the lower wards, where rival crews are already at each other’s throats and the night feels a little too hungry. This is an adults-only, R-rated, Eberron campaign using D&D 5.5e. The table is welcoming and beginner-friendly; if you are new to the game, we will teach the rules as we go. The tone is pulp noir: crime, secrets, and adventure in a city that never sleeps. Sessions mix mystery, intrigue, and combat. You will not always be able to fight your way out of problems, and your enemies will not be forgiving. Be ready to follow clues, talk your way out of (and into) trouble, and bargain with the powers that run the streets of Sharn — and beyond. Expect mature content — violence, vice, and a story that gets stranger as it goes. Some popular media that reflect the tone of this adventure are: The Maltese Falcon Chinatown Raiders of the Lost Ark Blade Runner True Detective (Season 1) The King in Yellow The Shadow over Innsmouth Disco Elysium Widow's Bay The game begins at 1st level in the City of Sharn: rain on skybridges, Lightning Rail tickets, gang politics, and crime that is anything but ordinary. The mystery will deepen. The map will widen. What begins in Sharn’s gutters is meant to pull you across Khorvaire by road, rail, and airship, and eventually toward older, stranger things than any crime lord could imagine. Characters can grow from 1st level into the mid-teens. This campaign is looking for players who want pulp noir in Eberron: mystery, morally gray character, and a long story arc that starts in the gutter but does not stay there. It begins at 1st level and is built to run for a long time. If that is you, apply. New players are welcome!!

About me
Greetings, adventurers! I’m Doug, your seasoned Dungeon Master, inviting you to join me at my virtual table for an unforgettable Dungeons & Dragons experience. I’ve been rolling dice and spinning tales since the 1980s, and my mission is simple: to draw you into a captivating, immersive game that keeps you coming back for more. Expect richly crafted NPCs, a chorus of voices and accents, intricate maps, a library of lore, and an infectious love for the game. As a lifelong devourer of fantasy fiction (and frustrated author), I’ve found D&D to be my ultimate creative playground. I delight in conjuring quirky characters, fearsome beasts, enigmatic prophecies, knotty mysteries, and breathtaking worlds. I thrive on weaving your character backstories into the campaign’s grand tapestry, letting you steer the story while I frame it within an epic narrative. So, grab a seat, and let’s craft a legendary tale together!

What Doug the DM brings to the table
Foundry VTT, D&D Beyond subscription with loads of content, high quality custom maps, art, voices, music, and a balanced mix of combat, story, and intrigue. I use 5e rules but am generous in my interpretations and value great role playing and creative choices over rigid application of the text.
Homebrew rules
We will discuss house rules upon joining. I keep house rules to a minimum.

How Doug the DM creates a safe table
Once you are approved for the game, you will be sent an invitation to join the OnlyDragons discord server, where you will find additional information concerning the campaign and character creation. You and I will message on Discord to cover lines and veils and make sure you are comfortable with the table rules and the subject matter. I'll go over my open door policy and we will also go over character concepts and backstories. While all official 5e content is permissible, Eberron specific content is highly encouraged. Players using Eberron content may select an additional origin feat.
