About the adventure

The Sunken Temple is a Dungeons & Dragons 5e one-shot adventure for players who enjoy exploration, mystery, and high-stakes action. When the sea mysteriously pulls back from the coastline, it reveals the entrance to an ancient temple that has remained hidden beneath the waves for centuries. Rumors speak of forgotten treasures, lost civilizations, and powerful secrets waiting to be uncovered—but the ocean will not stay silent for long. With only a few hours before the tide returns, adventurers must venture into the depths of the temple, navigate forgotten ruins, solve ancient puzzles, and face the dangers that guard its secrets. Every chamber holds a mystery, every discovery raises new questions, and every choice could determine whether the party escapes with glory or is swallowed by the returning sea. Designed for players who enjoy cinematic adventures, dungeon exploration, and a mix of roleplay, investigation, and combat, The Sunken Temple is suitable for both new and experienced adventurers. Prepare your gear, light your torches, and race against time—because when the waters rise, the temple will disappear once more.

About me

Hi! I am Kyriakos, GM from Greece. I've been running tabletop RPGs for some time now. My goal is to create fun, immersive, and memorable adventures where every player feels like an important part of the story. I enjoy adapting my games to match each group's playstyle, whether they prefer deep roleplay, tactical combat, exploration, or a balanced mix of all three. I believe that the best campaigns are built through collaboration, creativity, and player choice, so I always encourage my players to shape the world through their decisions. I strive to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment where both new and experienced players can relax, have fun, and enjoy an unforgettable tabletop RPG experience. I look forward to sharing exciting adventures and creating great stories together!

Creating your character

Pre-generated characters will be provided for this one-shot. Players do not need to create characters before the session.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to have a Roll 20 and Discord account.

What Kyriakos brings to the table

Atmosphere: Ambient music and immersive storytelling will be used to bring the world to life and create a more cinematic experience. Roleplay: Character voices, NPC personalities, and memorable interactions are encouraged, but players are never required to perform—focus on enjoying the story in your own way. Combat: Expect engaging and tactical encounters where strategy, creativity, and teamwork matter. Every fight should feel meaningful, not just a simple exchange of attacks. Rules & Creativity: The game follows the Rules as Written as a foundation, but the Rule of Cool has a place. Creative ideas and cinematic moments will be encouraged when they enhance the story and the experience for everyone. The Goal: A collaborative adventure where exploration, roleplay, combat, and unforgettable moments come together to create a story worth telling.

Homebrew rules

Leveling: Character progression will follow a milestone leveling system, rewarding major achievements, story developments, and important discoveries. Healing Potions: Drinking a healing potion requires a Bonus Action. Administering a healing potion to another character requires an Action. Long Rests: Long rests can only be completed in safe and secure locations such as cities, inns, or other protected areas. Resting in the wilderness will not provide the same benefits. Spell Components: Material components are only required when they have a listed gold value or involve rare and significant ingredients. Standard components will not be strictly tracked. Encumbrance: Carrying capacity and inventory weight will not be tracked strictly. The focus remains on exploration, storytelling, and the adventure rather than inventory management.

Safety

How Kyriakos creates a safe table

The goal is to create a fun, respectful, and welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable participating. Player boundaries and comfort are always a priority. Session 0: Before the adventure begins, we will go over character creation, campaign expectations, tone, house rules, safety tools, and any important topics players would like to discuss before entering the world. X, N, & O Tools: Safety tools will be available throughout the game. Players can communicate discomfort through digital tools, private messages, or direct signals during the session. No explanation is required when using them. Check-ins & Aftercare: After sessions, especially intense or emotional ones, we encourage open communication and quick check-ins to make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying the experience. The Goal: A memorable story built on trust, respect, and collaboration—where everyone at the table feels safe to explore, roleplay, and create unforgettable moments.
