About the adventure

For much of its history, Stellarch City has been held up as a shining example of American progress: a place of ambition, innovation, opportunity, and civic pride. But something has changed. Crime is rising. People are working harder and falling further behind. Corporations seem to have more influence than the citizens who live here, and the city's leaders appear either unable or unwilling to do much about it. No one can quite point to the moment things went wrong, only that Stellarch is not the city it used to be. That's where you come in. This campaign uses the Invincible RPG rules, but it does not take place in the canonical Invincible universe. The characters, villains, organizations, history, and major events of the setting will largely be our own. You and your fellow players will be citizens of Stellarch City, only unlike most people you have extraordinary abilities. This put you in a position of trying to decide what it means to be a hero in a city plagued by corruption, corporate greed, political apathy, ordinary crime... and perhaps a little supervillainy. Part of this will be potentially delving into some more modern political issues and I want to be up front about that. I enjoy exploring things from angles that may not be considered okay in polite company, but I think these things are, or can be, important to discuss. Things like authoritarianism, police violence, mental health and just a general state of the world I don't think should be ignored in these sorts of media. That being said, I want this to be a safe and comfortable environment for people to have fun while exploring these topics. I am always open to discussions on what is shown, what is insinuated, and what is ignored. I just want to make sure no one looks at this thinking this is going to be more along the lines of a Saturday morning cartoon.

About me

I never got into D&D in the early days—it looked too complicated at first glance, and none of my friends played it. We talked about it, but it felt like the final boss of nerd-dom, and even we weren’t ready. What wasn’t too nerdy for our edgy little selves was Vampire: The Masquerade. Nobody wanted to run it, and I fancied myself a decent writer, so I volunteered. That was that—I became the forever GM, and I’ve never looked back. Since then, the world’s come around, and RPGs have gone mainstream. These days, while I’ve run plenty of D&D, I tend to prefer systems like Genesys, Mothership, or Mythic Bastionland—games that prioritize creativity and storytelling over crunch. Not that I'm rules-averse. I just prefer to tell a story instead of refereeing a war game. What keeps me coming back is simple: I love riffing off what players come up with and building weird, memorable stories together. If you like narrative-first adventures, a dash of humor, and a GM who thrives on the unexpected, let’s roll some dice.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be creating characters together in session 0 mostly following the standard character creation rules. There will be some extra steps, mostly at the end, for some collaborative worldbuilding.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account. If you're unfamiliar with foundry or the system we're using it's not required but may be helpful to take some time and look at some tutorial videos on youtube or something so that you have an idea of what you're getting into. Before getting accepted to the game, I would prefer to do a brief interview to make sure that we're on the same page on the setting and tone of the game as well as a good "vibe" on each other. You can either send me a message on SPG directly or I will reach out to you if you send a request to join the game. I want to make sure that people understand that not every table is for every player and visa-versa. There is a certain amount of heavy subject matter that I think will come up and I want to make sure that the players are all on the same page on things and sometimes that just isn't there. That's not a judgment. That's not a negative thing.

What Krispy Demon brings to the table

I like to bring over the top characters to life to the best of my ability. I am a rule-of-cool kind of person. The rules are there to help set a baseline to we all know how things work, but great stories tend to have moments where the rules are bent or broken.

How Krispy Demon creates a safe table

We will be going over lines and veils during session zero, though things can be added to that list at any time. I also provide a macro that you can utilize to anonymously alert the group if something is becoming problematic.
