About the adventure

A thousand years ago the gods crashed to earth, shattering the environment and nearly wiping out civilization. In the ruins of advanced technology and ancient magic, on a scorched world, sentients began to rebuild. Now you set out, running an inherited caravan, heading wherever you can make a handful of gold. Will you be steered by greed, compassion, curiosity, or something else? Inspired by Vagrus, The Pit Dragon Chronicles, Dark Sun and others! • Trade, steal, adventure; whatever it takes to keep your caravan going. • Wrangle beasts and fix old tech. If it moves, it's useful. • Develop a character from a lowly, itinerant trader to whatever heights you aspire! • Play political games with factions, religions, city states, and fledgling nations. • Take care of your allies! A caravan of characters who can help or hinder you will be following your lead. This science-fantasy style campaign will start at level one and follow your interests as you discover the world, roam where you'd like, and choose your goals! But the world will move no matter what you do, and time is always precious!

About me

Hey folks! I'm Pete, known online as StenBjorn! I run Stone Bear Crafting and Games, a business dedicated to painting miniatures, 3d printing, building terrain, writing adventures, and helping customers have an awesome gaming experience! I've been playing D&D since family introduced me to the game in the late 80s. I have played and Game Mastered through a multitude of editions, learned other game systems, and never stopped loving storytelling through games, and hanging out with cool people! It is very important to me that everyone is welcome at my table. I'm happy to teach and believe learning is constant, and that when we're sitting at the table, we're all working together as a team. In that spirit, I don't tolerate bigotry of any sort. I want my games to be a safe space for group fun and growth and amazing storytelling! I do not use generative AI in any of my games or productions, however I have not yet stopped players from using it for images.

Safety

How Pete - StenBjorn creates a safe table

My games put story first, and I encourage role playing and creative thinking! Big swings are fun! I will provide combat, exploration, puzzles, and plenty of role playing opportunities! These games don’t work if we don’t think like a team, and work best when we’re all working together. I expect players at my table to respect each other, the story, and me. We will be working together to explore characters and tell a story. Optimization of your character is fine, but if math is the main attraction of the game for you, my table may not be what you’re looking for. I treat RPGs not as games to be won, but experiences to be built. I enjoy challenging combats and will throw them your way, but they have to serve the story. I ask all my players to be good to each other! Be cool, and we shall have a great time together. I don’t strictly follow Rules As Written, but I don’t deviate from RAW for no reason. That being said, I definitely believe in the rule of cool, as long as it doesn’t bend reality, and I use a few house rules for fun, flavor, and ease of use. These will be talked about in session 0. My games are for a mature audience, and I swear like a pirate when it’s appropriate(and in character). I welcome anyone to chat about expectations, but I do aim for an adult game, and as these games are fantasy/sci-fi, there will be conflict and violence and raised voices. I use the X(red), N(yellow), and O(green) card system during game play. This functions through Foundry with the /whisper gm command and as a module. No explanation is needed when these are used. Before we start I will also be asking everyone to fill out the Digital RPG Consent Checklist by Kienna Shaw and Lauren Bryant-Monk(Adapted from Monte Cook Games). I have a zero tolerance policy for harassment or discrimination of any sort, including race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, etc. I(the GM) reserve the right to remove a player immediately if they are in violation of this rule.
