About the adventure
In November of 1980 a CAT 7 Sin event occurred and irrevocably changed the direction of the world. An IDOL class sin anchored in Reagan created a Scapegoat Reservoir by sacrificing the working class. CAIN was unable to exorcise the Idol and SEER was forced to drop a worldwide veil in order to obfuscate the results of the Sin’s actions. Surface history attributes the outcome to economic conditions, geopolitics, and voter realignment. Long-term repercussions of the event include wage stagnation, erosion of labor power, and chronic precarity across working populations. This knowledge is held only by a select few members of AUTHORITY, which has never acknowledged the incident. 46 years later, SEER has noticed a dramatic increase in Sin activity. Is the veil beginning to tear? Or is someone orchestrating these incursions. This campaign will take place monthly, and is played in real time over the course of one full year. Each session is entirely stand alone, however when put together they tell an overarching mystery. The more sessions you attend, the more secrets you unlock! Perfect for anyone who is interested in learning CAIN, or who wants a game that they can drop in and out of.

About me
HI! I'm Molly and I've been playing ttrpgs for over 20 years now (since I was a teenager!) I started with the release of D&D 3rd Edition and quickly fell in love with helping tables craft stories. After 10 years of running 5e (along with Pathfinder and VtM) I've gotten really into running indie and/or lesser known titles: Mork Borg, Coriolis, Sixth World, Liminal Horror, Cypher System...and so many more. I enjoy learning new systems and helping others to learn them through play, and providing opportunities for a table to come together and tell a collaborative story. I'd love to build a framework for you to tell a story in! My table is always queer and LGBTQ+ friendly.

Creating your character
Everyone will start as a Category 1 Exorcist. You are welcome to work on creating your character before we start, but we will hold a session zero where we can go over them all together!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll play using a combination of Discord and PlayRole.com! CAIN is an investigative, theatre of the mind, system. We'll mostly use VTT to track talismans (clocks).
What Goth Saturday (GM Molly) brings to the table
I will craft a dark and immersive world with intriguing SINs and an overarching mystery for the Exorcists to piece together over the course of a year! I bring multisensory descriptions, intense combat, and curated ambient music. A collection of unique NPCs for you to interact with and a world that is begging you to build upon it. Each session will include increasing dramatic tension with horror and emotional release through humor. I can provide the rules and rulebook, and a safe table for everyone!

How Goth Saturday (GM Molly) creates a safe table
I will send you a survey link where you can fill out any Lines and Veils you may have, and I will compile a document of everyones (anonymized) results. During session 0 we will go over all of the lines and veils together, so that everyone is on the same page, as well as discuss a safeword and how we will deploy the X card. We will end every session with enough time to hold a debrief so that we can step out of character and release any tension the session created.
