About the adventure
By day, you're all but emotionally smothered by the mundane, repressive everyday world. By night, you're protecting its citizens from the Abyss, an eldritch entity that heightens the worst traits of society in those it corrupts. Your team of magical girls will free people of the Abyss's grasp, investigate its machinations, race it to grab Objects of Power, and ultimately face off against it! This is a Girl by Moonlight campaign under the Brink of the Abyss playset. You will play as magical girls fighting against antagonists who are (perhaps) not yet past redemption. This ruleset is heavily inspired by Sailor Moon and Steven Universe. I also am personally adding a lot of inspiration from the Persona games, particularly 5.

About me
Hi! I’m Violet, and I love running games that are imaginative, rp-heavy, and fiction-focused! I especially love getting players to build relationships between their characters. After eight years of playing mostly DnD, I started running Forged in the Dark systems. I’ve been running Songs for the Dusk, Girl by Moonlight, and Blades in the Dark. I’ve also ran a DnD mini-campaign (homebrew) and some one shots in previous years. Right now, I can’t wait to run some more GBM, as I’m very much into the anime touchstones it invites. You will be given a Girl by Moonlight character sheet in Roll20. We will make the characters together in Session Zero, but you are free to begin the process before that.

What Violet brings to the table
I'm an extremely collaborative GM and it goes both ways. At no point will you be on your own; I'll always help you if you are stuck. Inversely, any worldbuilding I do is something you are also free to contribute to. You will like my table a lot if: -You enjoy getting interested in your character -You enjoy getting even more interested in the other players' characters -You like an emphasis on fiction and roleplay -You want to do cool heist-like shit as a magical girl -You're down with cheesy scenes where you reform the villain of the week

How Violet creates a safe table
*Please be advised*: While I have listed the content most likely to occur in the content warnings, this is an improv-heavy system. For this reason I *strongly* recommend filling out the Monte Cook checklist ahead of session zero so that we can establish what content is off-limits. That in mind: (1) Players can type "X" in the chat on Discord or on Roll20 at any time. This is understood to signal you want certain content removed. Once you type it in, the GM will confirm with you what content needs removing, and then do so. You will not have to explain why you need it removed. (2) The Discord Server contains a PDF for the Monte Cook consent checklist, where you can mark ahead of time any content you either want to NOT see, or only want to exist "offstage" or veiled. You are advised to fill this out before session zero. (3) You may take a break for your safety and/or mental health at any time without judgment.
