About the adventure
Dark nights are upon us, my brothers and sisters. For countless nights, Brisbane has been our city to rule. The Treaty of Sydney declares it as such, and we have made it ours. But now, the Anarch and Independent filth of this city have grown bold. Baronies and strongholds rise up, our bishops are attacked and slaughtered in the streets, and the control we have worked so hard to maintain is being threatened by vandals at our gates. But we are the Sword of Caine, and we do not bend when struck. In Mecca of the Sabbat, players step into the night as members of a Sabbat pack - those bound by blood and divine rituals to one another. Serving at the pleasure of one of Brisbane's bishops, your pack will be sent on missions with only one goal: to keep Brisbane in Sabbat hands. Find and disrupt meetings between Anarch barons. Lay waste to their armories and stockpiles. Cut off their supply lines and slaughter their troops. This city is yours by right, and no rebel shall have a piece so long as you unlive. But there are other threats in the night, as well. Rival packs seek to spread the influence of their bishops, and the politics of the Sabbat are as intricate as they are violent. Camarilla spies infest the streets like well-dug in ticks. And for all the rumors of the Second Inquisition being dead, there are sure a lot of people with shotguns running around... Sharpen your steel, my brothers and sisters! For we are the Sword of Caine, and we fall where we please!

Meet the Game Master
About me
A humble player of rpgs who has been behind and in front of the screen consistently for over two decades, I am a lover of all editions of D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowrun and WoD. Experience in running 3.5, 4th and 5th edition D&D, Shadowrun, various WoD and CoD campaigns and games both independent and obscure. My games run from simple, heartfelt adventures to deep social dramas and good old-fashioned dungeon diving!

Creating your character
We will schedule and have a session zero to work on our characters together. Our characters will be between 11th and 13th generation, with the oldest being neonates. For people who do not have the rulebook, I will be providing copies of the rulebook. We will be generating our characters on sheets through the Realms of Darkness app, as that is also the dice bot used in the Discord. During session zero, we will also be discussing lines and veils and other safety tools.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a stable connection to the internet, as well as a Discord account and microphone. The Storyteller will be on camera, but cameras are not required for the players.
What Chris brings to the table
In terms of materials, I will provide the core rulebook, character sheets, and a dice bot for us to use in our excursions. As for myself, I bring twenty years of Storytelling and Game Mastering experience to the table. My focus as a Storyteller is to serve as your guide: to set the stage and lead you down the rabbit holes. The style I have honed is very player-forward: you are the ones commanding the action. There will be times when I ask how your character is feeling: to play Devil's Advocate and explore the thoughts and emotions behind your character's decisions and the anticipation they feel in the moment of the hunt. I am a big believer in the Rule of Cool: if there is something you want to attempt, and it sounds awesome (and plausible) enough, there is a very good chance that you can roll for it. And how those dice land, is how we play it out. My games are LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone should feel free to be themselves.
Homebrew rules
The only homebrew rule I employ is Achievements: If you do something awesome once per session, you will gain an extra Experience Point in the form of an Achievement declaring your job well done. Achievements are awarded through the completion of a task, making a particularly difficult roll, throwing your character out there, or doing something that just brings a smile to my face.

How Chris creates a safe table
Players will be provided a link to a Lines and Veils pdf, which is to be filled out and submitted prior to Session Zero. During Session Zero, the players and I will go over their established Lines and Veils, as well as discuss other subjects which may be taboo which weren't present on the sheet or were thought of later. During our sessions, we will take a break halfway through so that I may touch base with the players and make sure they are still comfortable and having fun. Whenever there is a heavy scene or someone asks for a scene to stop, we will also employ these breaks to make sure everyone is okay. Each session will also end with a brief discussion on what the players liked, how they feel the game is going, and any concerns they would like to address. My DMs will also be open for players to discuss their concerns in confidence. Over the course of play, players will be asked to submit their X, N and O's to me through DM to maintain their confidentiality.
