About the adventure
Be the last to join the five - 2 Toreador, a Lasombra, a Gangrel & a Ministry - to fill out the Coterie that has just begun investigating who is turning Kindred into mindless WIghts! ____________________________________________________________________ How will your coterie survive the threats endangering Covenant, Rhode Island? How will you shape your city’s nights to come? • StartPlaying does not yet have a category for Vampire: The Masquerade V6, so this game is listed under Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition (V5). However, we will be using the official 'Shape the Next Night' public playtest rules for the upcoming sixth edition (V6), not the published fifth-edition (V5) rules. • These are brand-new alpha playtest rules. Everyone will be exploring and learning the new system together, and the rules themselves will evolve as they are refined. Let’s have fun shaping Covenant’s Next Night together!

About me
American-born living in France since childhood (bilingual). IRL feature-film, video-game & series screenwriter. Started gaming with the old basic DnD. Played & GMed a lot of games (AD&D, Vampire, WFRP, Pathfinder & Starfinder...) and more recently The One Ring, Alien RPG & The Walking Dead (Free League). I am getting back to good old Vampire with the new VtM V6.

Creating your character
We will create your character together—or you can choose one of the official pre-generated characters. The playtest rules will be provided as a PDF. If you prefer, you can also use Roll20 and/or Demiplane to create and track your character.
Create the Neonate Vampire you want from the Clans that are available in the rules.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need to play is a Discord account. The entire chronicle will take place on our Discord server. Updated PDFs of the rules will be shared. Roll20 and Demiplane are entirely optional. You may use either to create and manage your character and access the official playtest materials, but no gameplay will take place there.
What Eric C. brings to the table
Vampire: the Masquerade is a game of roleplaying, intrigue, tense confrontations, and deadly combat. I run the game Rules as Written (RAW), so everyone shares a clear and fair foundation, as we discover these new rules together. I strive to be transparent and consistent in my rulings, while remaining open to adapting them when it makes the game more enjoyable for everyone at the table. If something is not working for you, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Homebrew rules
We will be exploring the official playtest rules as they evolve, so we will not be using homebrew rules or mechanics.

How Eric C. creates a safe table
This is a game, and the goal is for everyone to enjoy themselves. I want this chronicle to be a safe, welcoming and respectful place for every player. That said, this is Vampire: the Masquerade—a game of gothic horror. Darkness, danger and death are part of the setting. This does not mean anything goes. Some subjects are hard Lines and will never appear in the game, including bigotry, racism, sexism, and sexual violence. If you have additional Lines, please let me know. We will also use Veils: subjects that may exist in the story but will fade to black rather than be described in detail. Because this is an asynchronous Play-by-Post chronicle, everyone has time to read, think, and respond at their own pace. That naturally creates opportunities to pause, reflect, and raise any concerns. I also do my best to notice when someone seems uncomfortable, even if they have not said anything. If an issue arises, we will address it respectfully so everyone can continue enjoying the game.
