About the adventure
Welcome to Rise of the Runelords (Anniversary Edition), the first published Pathfinder 1st Edition adventure! "From the idyllically peaceful coastal town of Sandpoint to an ancient lost city at the top of the world, Rise of the Runelords takes a party of adventurers from 1st to over 18th level and delves into the mysteries of Varisia's ancient past. Millennia ago, the powerful empire of Thassilon ruled the land, dominated by despotic runelords who maintained their power through harnessing the power of rune magic. Thought gone forever, the workings of Thassilon are not so far beneath the surface and one of the runelords plans a return to power. Only the brave adventurers stand in his way. " My name is Faith, and this listing presents your opportunity to dive into the Golarion setting! I am greatly welcoming of new players willing to give a new system, a new style, or a new game a try. As my profile might suggest, this is a TEXT-ONLY, and yet SESSION-BASED game. This means that, while we meet weekly, like normal sessions, my games will be almost entirely TEXT-BASED. All character interaction, NPC dialogue, area descriptions, etc, are text-based in the Foundry Virtual Tabletop. However, there is plenty of custom-made battlemaps, tokens, and music to get people immersed in the world of Golarion. Players should have a good grasp of english language writing skills, as it's imperative to making sure that both you and your fellow players can enjoy the game to the fullest. Additional note: There is ZERO AI use in this campaign. If players are struggling to find art, please let me know. I have a large back-stock of character art which can be used, and I am proficient enough with Photoshop to make some minor changes to make some prefab art seem more original.

About me
Hello! My name is Faith, and I'm a professional, veteran TTRPG GM with 12 years of experience with a whole host of systems, from WoD5/WoD20, D&D 2nd, 3rd, 3.5th, 4th, and 5th editions, Pathfinder 1st edition, PbtA, and Pokémon Tabletop Reunited. Players who are heavily invested in engaging in their character's RP will find that they have plenty of room to flourish at my table, whilst also still being able to engage in tactical, intense combat situations.

Creating your character
Character creation is one-on-one, and will be done before the first session. Stats are point-buy, with 20 points being used. Character sheets will be entirely inside Foundry VTT. All 1st-party Paizo material is available to be used, and some 3.5e D&D content is allowed too, but it's on a case-by-case basis if you really want to. Starting level is 1, and the campaign goes all the way to 18 and potentially beyond! For players who are new, I have a variety of pre-generated characters available -- one for each of the Core classes.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Nothing external to Foundry VTT is strictly required, however I would greatly advise you to join my Discord server for this game if you want to keep up with updates, as it's much easier to do so over Discord!
What Faith brings to the table
My games all have varied soundtracks, which are a point of pride for me and something I spend a lot of my prep time on. Each area, city, and building that you visit will have a fully furnished, dynamically lit piece of art to make each area really alive! My tokens use official Paizo assets, most of which is from the official 2nd-edition rulesets, but on the rare occasion that there is no 2e art, I create my own high quality tokens from official 1e or 3.5e D&D art. In-depth RP awaits you in this campaign, and I consider that a certainty. Even if you, yourself, are not especially experienced with Pathfinder or with text-based games, so long as you are attentive and willing to learn you will come away with perhaps a new favourite way to play! Expect combat to be challenging, but fair. I like to play monsters fairly to their mental ability scores, so certain RAW (Rules-as-Written) DCs for things such as intimidation and persuasion might sometimes be lower or higher depending on the kind of creature you're interacting with. Player character death is a serious consideration, but as is the case with all PF1e games, it becomes quite a lot easier to reverse it as the campaign progresses and your characters gain access to more money and higher level spells.
Homebrew rules
Every character gets the following feats for free; Weapon Finesse, Power Attack, Deadly Aim, Combat Expertise, and Point Blank Shot On character creation, you will pick one drawback and three traits. XP is in use, and we're using the *Fast* experience track.

How Faith creates a safe table
Before the first session, I will have all of my players fill out a pre-made consent sheet. This sheet will cover everything that is planned to appear in the game. If anything on that sheet is not enjoyable for a player, or makes them uncomfortable, they can tick 'no' and hand the sheet back to me. Without questioning the reason, this element will no longer be involved. Players can, also, at any time, revise the sheet if they have changed their mind about their original answers. Additionally, I am always considerate of people's changing moods and opinions. Players can send me a private message on Discord or in the in-game chat in Foundry if they have any issue whatsoever.
