About the adventure
Life in Faerûn is a text-based, asynchronous DnD 5e campaign in which the player is free to live whatever kind of story they'd like. Not exactly groundbreaking, but it's how I prefer to do things anyways. Got a character with a million word backstory that's better suited to a 1-on-1 game? Hit me with it, I love that! I'm eager to work with anything a player might come up with, including homebrew (which, of course, I'll still need to approve).

About me
Hi! My name is Ian, but I go by Mug/Muggy online. I have experience with a wide array of TTRPG's, I write books, and I just enjoy being creative in general! I've always dreamed of making something like this my job, and as well as recently becoming a published author I've also now decided to pursue paid GM'ing. I devote most of my time to my writing, my girlfriend, and our two cats, and you can count on me giving lots of time and attention to both our campaign and your character specifically. I'm all about player choice and an emphasis on COLLABORATIVE storytelling. I love building worlds alongside my players and seeing them change over time as they react to things my players have done.

Creating your character
Call me old-fashioned (at least compared to DnD Beyond), but I'd much prefer to have a simple form-fillable pdf character sheet and use the various wikis as sources. That's just what's easiest in my opinion. If you have some other way of doing it, I'm open to it as long as I can easily access your sheet should the need arise.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you'll really need is a Discord account.
What Muggy brings to the table
I tend to tailor games to what the player wants. Amount of combat, intensity of roleplay, rule of cool vs RAW, etc. is mostly all up to you.
Homebrew rules
I'm open to lots of homebrew, but I won't have any ready to go day one for myself. The only thing is that I tend to ignore material components for spells (shocking, I know).

How Muggy creates a safe table
Before we do anything we'll probably spend our first few days just discussing character concepts, what you'd like out of the campaign, etc. basically acting as the play-by-post version of a Session 0. If you ever feel uncomfortable my DM's will be open. I promise to never belittle anyone's feelings about the content of our game, and I'm open to making reasonable accommodations.
