About the adventure

I've GM'd for over 50 years, and ran various Palladium games for about 20 years. Its been awhile, the last was a 72hr straight superheroes game with 13 players. So, I have some experience with the system. 😁 I am happy to dedicate the first session to create the basic framework and create a customized campaign, built on players desires, in any genre. Any genre. So contact me if interested, this sounds like fun! The timeline of pivots around a global crisis known as Dark Day, during which the entire planet was plunged into unnatural darkness for three straight days. During this blackout, a secret cabal of supernatural alien overlords called the Nightlords crossed over from a mirror dimension called the Nightlands. They used shapeshifting minions like Doppelgangers, Hunters, and Hounds to infiltrate Earth, quietly replacing heads of state, corporate leaders, and government powers to enslave humanity.

About me

My name is Dave and I have been running games for over 47 years. All of my players have witnessed the level of dedication I bring to the table, and the time I take to prepare, and customize each experience for the individual players. I take the time to help each player develop their own story arcs, and customizations to make each character unique. I have also worked closely with other GM’s to develop our skills to help provide a fun and exciting experience for our players. I have a large collection of RPG’s totaling over 246 so far, not including digital titles, and these have given me a wide breadth of experience and techniques to pull from. Please see the testimonials from previous players for examples of their own experiences. For more on what I have to offer please visit my website at www.rolethedice.org

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters can be made before the game starts, or they can be made during Session Zero to better tune the character to the campaign and group. I am available prior to Session Zero and would love the opportunity to meet the players. Here is the Invite to the Role the Dice Discord Server: https://discord.gg/sTBEDQMGZ

The current party

Party can be composed of any type or combination of race or classes that fit within the limitations of the Gems of Kalathos environment. This campaign has some content restrictions in place to create a specific emotional concept and tone, or feel. Many races, classes and subclasses are generally not available from some expansions or 3rd party publications. That said I am open to discussing options that will allow you to play a character that you will enjoy.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will utilize Roll20 as our VTT; link to site will follow. We will use Discord for audio/video for a more robust experience. We can share documents, images, etc via char channels.

What David brings to the table

I use a variety of images and special effects, colorful maps, and audio effects to enhance the gaming experience. I place the story above the rules. I follow the Rule of Cool. Rules are meant to be a guideline not an absolute; the emotion and strength of the Scene is more important than an arbitrary rule.

Homebrew rules

Varies by game but the basics are: 1: Respect everyone 2: Arguments over rules happen after the game session, and discussed briefly in-game. 3: Various changes or exceptions to the rules are discussed at the time needed. The scene and the emotion are placed over the rules.

Safety

How David creates a safe table

We will use the Monte Cooke Consent in Gaming forms for each players. I will always make time to address any situations that may arise, privately if desired. I enforce respect, tolerance, fairness, and a total ban of racism and bigotry at my tables.
