About the adventure
Your ship went down in a storm off the Pirate Isles, and your captain, the woman you'd have followed into the Abyss itself, abandoned ship minutes before. Three days later you woke on a beach. You'd come back stronger, with a hunger for blood the old you would have gagged at. Your captain's probably out there, flying under a new flag, and you intend to find her. * * ☠️ * * Hoist the colors, and hide yer fangs! Crew of Kindred is a swashbuckling vampire game set in Forgotten Realm's Sea of Fallen Stars, using the vampire rules from Bound by Blood. Players are encouraged (but not required) to make vampire characters. You'll board merchant vessels and slit throats for coin, and below decks you'll feed on whoever's still breathing. You'll bargain with sahuagin. Waterdhavian bounty hunters have started asking how the crew survived. Rumors of your former captain surface one port at a time. Every score brings you closer to her, and some of your crew will go into the water getting you there. This game runs on tension between what your character wants and what your character needs. You need blood. You want revenge, or freedom, or a captain who'd have gone down with the ship beside you. Expect a mix of ship combat, typical pirate adventure, and social scenes where lying to the living is half the fun and hiding what you are from the people you used to love is the hard part. This table suits players who like their horror campy. Are you new to vampire games, or to nautical ones? Both are fine. We'll walk through the rules together at session zero, and whatever lore matters will come up as we play. Bring a character who's a pirate, a vampire, or both, and we'll figure out the rest on the water. AVAST!

Creating your character
We use DNDBeyond or Dicecloud to create characters. We will be using the Discord bot Avrae for rolls, checks, saves, etc. Don't worry if you don't have experience with these things, I am happy to help guide people through. I also have Tupperbox, which players can use if they'd like, though this is not a requirement.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account and either a Dicecloud or DNDBeyond account (all of which are free).
What apheline brings to the table
I run an active D&D PbP server where you can chat with other players. There will be In-Character and Out-of-Character channels as well as channels for maps, resources, party loot, etc. We may also use a virtual tabletop such as Quest Portal. You will never have to pay for extras, VTTs, etc at my table.
