About the adventure

Make your own mark on Exandria! In this campaign, you get to explore Exandria from the Wastes of Xhorhas to the oasis-city of Ank'Harel, and eventually to the deep, dark unknown of the Netherdeep, all while navigating unique factions whose ambitions intersect with your own. This story has a heroic tone familiar to those who love traditional high fantasy stories, where your choices directly impact the outcome of the adventure. You can be creative with solutions to problems, enjoy interesting combat that are relevant to the story, and develop deep relationships with other PCs and NPCs.

About me

Chicky (she/her) 🇹🇼 🇺🇸 🏳️‍🌈 - Crafting awesome TTRPG sessions that make you curious, empathetic, and laugh out loud. - Probably forgetting an important step in a recipe right now. GMing is my dream job. I love creating an experience that players look forward to every session. At my table, you can expect clear communication, respectful boundaries, and the freedom to make meaningful choices in an interesting world that grows with you. I will ask you what your character is feeling. I will ask you to describe your connections and have other creative input. Yes, that devastating NPC from your backstory will absolutely show up. WHAT MY PLAYERS SAY: 💬 "...fantastic with adapting content to the interests of the group!" 💬 "...spotlight management is one of the best among the GMs I've played with." 💬 "...it takes a great GM to make you enjoy a TPK!" In the real world, I work for a wildlife nonprofit. When I'm not thinking about TTRPGs, I'm browsing indie bookstores, practicing playing the tenor guitar, and spoiling my three cats. Character creation

Creating your character

Establish your character's backstory using the Heroic Chronicle in Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, using point-buy for your stats. Ancestries such as drow, goblinoids, orcs, kobolds, and other typically rare creatures are encouraged. Evil-aligned characters are not allowed.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We'll use Discord for voice chat, D&D Beyond for character sheets, and Roll20 for everything else. All are free to access.

Homebrew rules

No player-vs-player action is allowed, unless relevant to the story and only with consent of all players. Help Action: When narrative allows, if you are trained in the skill needed to perform an action, you may help another character and grant them advantage. Critical Success/Failure: When you roll a natural 20 on an attack roll, roll your damage dice and then multiply the results by two. Does not include modifiers. Natural 1s always incur the worst outcome. Luck Points: Every time you miss an attack or a saving throw (not ability checks), you gain one luck point. You can only hold up to 5 luck points at a time. If you gain a 6th luck point, roll 1d4 and the result replaces the number of luck points you have. You can spend 1 luck point to add +1 to a D20 roll after the roll, or spend 3 luck points to re-roll a d20 check after the roll. GMs will also award luck points for big risk moves and good roleplaying. Lucky Recaps: At the start of each session, one player can recap the previous session to receive 1 luck point. Potions: One action when feeding a willing target; one bonus action when drinking it yourself. Flanking: If a line drawn through the center of a character's space passes through opposite sides or corners of the enemy's space, the enemy is flanked. Optional Action Options: The optional maneuvers on page 271 of the Dungeon Master's Guide are allowed. This includes climb onto a bigger creature, disarm, mark, overrun, shove aside, and tumble. Revivify: Possible, but rare and expensive. Using Matt Mercer’s Resurrection Rules where it gets increasingly more difficult the more you have to do it.

Safety

How ChickyBisky creates a safe table

We will set expectations and boundaries as a group, establish Lines and Veils, create characters, and review gaming logistics. I use Stars and Wishes to close out every session, and take frequent temperature checks throughout the campaign to make sure everyone is still having fun. My DMs are always open so you can reach me outside of the game.
