About the adventure
A peaceful festival is shattered when drow raiders strike from the darkness, leaving death, destruction, and captives in their wake. What begins as a mission to rescue the stolen soon becomes a journey into the vast depths beneath Faerûn, where ancient cities, forgotten gods, deadly monsters, and warring factions stand between the heroes and the truth behind the invasion. Rise of the Drow is an epic dark-fantasy campaign filled with dangerous exploration, tense negotiations, meaningful choices, and challenging combat. The party will travel through strange underground realms, navigate the ruthless politics of drow society, gather unlikely allies, and uncover a threat capable of spreading far beyond the Underdark. This game is ideal for players who enjoy long-form campaigns, heroic storytelling, tactical encounters, deep worldbuilding, and characters whose decisions shape the course of the adventure. New and experienced players are welcome, but be prepared for a dangerous journey where teamwork, creativity, and courage may matter just as much as the abilities written on your character sheet.

About me
I've been playing roleplaying games off and on since the turn of the millennium and have basically taken that forever DM spot among friends. I have extensive experience with DnD 3.5 and 5e (2014). I have moderate experience and am learning and falling in love with Draw Steel. I'd also love for a chance to learn and play Starfinder (futuristic space) and All Flesh Must Be Eaten (post-apocalyptic zombies).

Creating your character
Character creation will take place together during Session 0 so everyone can build characters that fit the campaign and work well as a party. Characters will begin at level 1, ability scores will use the standard point buy system, and all character sheets will be created and managed through Foundry VTT. Players may use character options from any official 2014 D&D 5e sourcebook. During Session 0, we will also discuss character concepts, party connections, campaign expectations, and any setting details that may help tie your character into the opening of Rise of the Drow.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before the game begins, please make sure you have access to Discord and have joined the campaign server, as this will be our main place for communication, announcements, and voice chat. You will also need a working laptop or desktop computer, a stable internet connection, and access to the campaign through Foundry VTT. Foundry runs through your web browser, so no additional program or paid account is required. Once you have joined the Discord and Foundry servers, test your microphone, browser, and connection before the first session. Most importantly, come ready to work with your fellow adventurers and bring the courage to brave the monsters, mysteries, and endless darkness of the Underdark.
What Envision brings to the table
Players can expect a dark, serious campaign supported by ambient music, detailed maps, atmospheric visuals, and carefully prepared encounters that bring the dangers of the Underdark to life. I aim to create an immersive world where exploration feels tense, victories feel earned, and the party’s choices have meaningful consequences. Combat will be tactical and challenging, with enemies that use their abilities, terrain, and teamwork intelligently. Success will often require cooperation, resource management, and creative thinking rather than simply attacking the nearest creature. Encounters may be dangerous, but I will strive to keep rulings consistent, challenges fair, and important information clearly communicated. I will provide access to Foundry VTT, campaign maps, tokens, handouts, music, and the materials needed to experience the adventure. Players can also expect opportunities for roleplay, investigation, difficult decisions, and character development alongside the campaign’s intense battles.
