About the adventure

Welcome to "Kill The Dragon!" This One-Shot adventure combines elements of dungeon crawling and horror, with one clear objective: to defeat the dragon. This game is designed for players with a decent amount of experience in dnd, who are seeking a thrilling and fun night of working together to take down a deadly beast. However, be warned that this is a combat-heavy one-shot, so be prepared to fight with all your might! The Story: Strizacus, a dragon of fable to those far from his hunting grounds, and a constant source of fear for those unlucky enough to hear the sound of his wings above the clouds. It is said that his flight alone can conjure a blizzard, leaving behind a trail of frigid remains for him to feast upon. For years, he has remained unchallenged, but now you have been presented with an opportunity: you have discovered Strizacus's lair. Deep in the northern arctic lies the glacial caves, a massive icy cavern where Strizacus is said to reside. The plan is simple: brave the cave and kill the dragon.

About me

Hello, you can call me Astro! Storytelling has always held a special place in my heart. As a GM, I've been able to not only create many adventures, but also see how my players expand upon them into stories & events I never could've imagined. I love being a GM, I love the feeling of shared excitement I get from planning with my players. I love crafting moments that make my players feel important and cool, and I love the feeling of seeing my players feel genuinely invested in not only my world, but also the story and their characters. What can you expect from me: - A Safe Space: I will do my very best to make sure all my players feel comfortable to play at my table, because i refuse to tolerate intolerance. - Open Communication: I will always make sure to be upfront and communicative with my players, and in turn i hope they do the same. - Epic Moments: I want my players to feel like the power that their character has, and walk away from my games feeling amazing. - Player Focus: I like to build my worlds and adventures around my player characters, that way it feels like player's choices matter. - A Good Laugh: I like having at least a little bit of levity in all my Campaigns. No matter what, if someone is playing at my table I want them to have fun and want to came back.

Character creation

Creating your character

This will be a 10th-Level one-shot with the following stipulations: - Stats can be either Standard Array or Point Buy. - I am using Tasha's rules for racial scores - Everyone will start with either 1 Rare or 2 Uncommon magic items - Everyone will start with 1 Potion of Greater Healing - While I am open to some homebrew, I would prefer to keep it to Official Material - Detailed backstory, while not required, is also not discouraged - Characters should have motivation to kill Strizacus In terms of Where & When characters should be created: - Characters should be created before the one-shot starts - Character sheets can be stored in any method you like, as long as I am able to see it

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You should make sure you have discord & a good microphone ready to go. You do not have to show your face.

What ASTRO brings to the table

This session will be rather combat heavy, and while I will be mostly sticking with rules as written, I do also do Rule-of-cool for creative ideas I think can work. In terms of my Gming, I use Theater of the Mind. So you can expect me to provide music, character voices, in-depth narration with a little humor.

Homebrew rules

- Drinking a potion can be an Action or Bonus Action (Using an Action for Healing Potions heals you for the Maximum amount) - Players rolling Natural 20s for attack rolls does Max Damage + Damage rolled - Players rolling Natural 20s on saving throws allows them to auto pass without taking any damage.

Safety

How ASTRO creates a safe table

Before beginning this game, we will all have an open discussion about what content can be expected within the one-shot, as well as what can be avoided if that is requested. During the session, there will be 1-2 breaks in between the session for both checking in and resting. After session, we will have aftercare/debriefing time to all discuss the session and simmer down.
