About the adventure

TLDR: A beginner-friendly Cypher System one-shot inspired by Wild Cards. Play a superpowered individual in an alternate 1960 where the Wild Card virus has transformed the world into a battleground of politics, propaganda, and power. Perfect for players who enjoy moral dilemmas, political intrigue, and character-driven storytelling. Two decades ago, an alien virus exploded over New York, changing history forever. 90% of those infected died. 9% survived as Jokers, physically transformed and often treated as outcasts. Only 1% became Aces, gifted with extraordinary powers. You are one of the lucky few. The Cold War has become an arms race for superhuman assets. Politicians campaign on fear and patriotism. Intelligence agencies recruit, blackmail, and coerce powered individuals into serving national interests. Civil rights movements fight for the dignity of Jokers while powerful Aces are celebrated as heroes, weapons, or both. What You Will Do: * Play as a unique Ace navigating a world built on fear, power, and propaganda, being sent on missions to further the agenda of the United States and various Intelligence Agencies. * Interact with and shift historical events as you are sent on missions to iconic locations around the globe. * Navigate political pressure, shifting loyalties, and competing agendas * Decide whether to serve the system, reform it, or tear it down Why play this game? πŸ”Ή An inclusive environment supporting all identities, in and out of game πŸ”Ή Cypher System is easy to learn and beginner-friendly, with streamlined rules that keep the focus on the story. πŸ”Ή Fast-paced gameplay that rewards creativity over memorizing mechanics. πŸ”Ή Character abilities are flexible and cinematic, making every hero feel unique. πŸ”Ή Players roll all the dice, keeping you constantly engaged in the action. πŸ”Ή Immersive Foundry VTT experience with maps, music, and visual aids

About me

Hello there! I'm Kenny, an experienced professional and full-time gamemaster. With a background in creative writing (B.A.), game design (A.A.), and certifications in narrative design, I bring both structure and spontaneity to every session. I've also designed my own adventure paths, campaign settings, and mechanics, giving me a deep understanding of how story and mechanics can work hand-in-hand. My true passion lies in collaborative storytelling, weaving unforgettable adventures through improv, roleplay, and the dynamic systems of TTRPGs. Whether you're new to the table or a seasoned dice-roller, I’m here to help you explore new worlds, tell epic stories, and, most importantly, have a blast doing it! I am able to work with you if you’re experiencing economic hardship. Let me know and we will work out a lower price!

How KT Beauchamp creates a safe table

This game will be run using Foundry VTT. This simple and versatile platform lends itself well to the improv-heavy, sandbox-style game I enjoy running. This, combined with Theater of the Mind, ensures total and complete freedom for the players, as anywhere they want to go can be drawn on the map and performed. To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all players, I use the following safety tools: βœ… At least one 10-minute break around the middle of the session βœ… In games of darker themes I enjoy running loose and humorous games when possible. The object of the game is to have fun. ___ -> What a player will experience in this Oneshot | Rating out of five skulls | Roleplaying - πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ Tactics/Combat - πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ Exploration - πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ Politics - πŸ’€πŸ’€ Puzzles - πŸ’€ RATING: R CONTENT WARNING: This One-shot deals with dark and existential themes.
