About me

I first got into the hobby when I was about 15 or 16 years old after helping a friend's dad reorganize his board game closet and we found his AD&D 1e books. For the next while every Friday night thru Sunday night he would run amazing campaigns for us and share his stories from when he was our age and playing. Eventually his worked picked back up and he started being busy on the weekends but we didn't want to stop playing so I took over being the GM, and it's just been history ever since. That Christmas my mom get my the 3 core books for DND 5e and we ran that for quite a while and had lots of fun. Then one day while looking for some homebrew online I discovered west end games star wars d6 and learned that the hobby wasn't just DND but a whole subgenre of games and my interest in the hobby reignited as I began exploring it more deeply and learn about all sorts of games and running more and more different games, learning to run everything from more crunchy and ttactical with cyberpunk 2020 to rules lite/narrative games with PBTA (monster of the week was my first in case you were wondering). Now I'm 27, a husband to an amazing wife and the father to 4 kids that are my world. I lost my job last year in construction due to my fear of heights returning and unable to do a lot of my work as just stepping on a ladder would cause me to panic. With 4 kids I need money to help provide for them and I've been struggling to switch careers and find new steady work. So this is my hail Mary.
