About the adventure
PRIVALE HAS BEEN ALONE FOR A THOUSAND YEARS. When the undead apocalypse tore through the rest of the world, a barrier of old magic dropped over the city and sealed it shut. Everyone who's ever lived here was born inside those walls, raised on stories about what happened Outside, and told the barrier was the only reason any of them survived to hear those stories at all. Six days ago, without warning, the barrier disappeared. Nobody knows why it held for a thousand years or why it stopped now. The Council wants the gates closed again and everyone back to pretending the world outside doesn't exist. The guild called The Last Horizon has other plans, and they're hiring. This is a quest-based campaign. You're playing a member of The Last Horizon, and each session is a job: something the guild needs handled, whether that's inside the city or out past the gates into whatever's left of the world. Some quests are small and self-contained, a good way to earn coin, build a reputation, and get to know your party. Others are going to pull threads that don't stay tied off, because something took that barrier down on purpose, and the guild wants to know what and why before it happens again. Think of it less like one long dungeon crawl and more like a working guild hall: you take the jobs that interest you, you build relationships with the people who hand them out, and slowly the smaller stories start pointing at a much bigger one underneath. If you've ever watched a show where a ragtag guild takes odd jobs that spiral into something much larger, that's the shape of this table. I run games that favor character-driven roleplay backed by real consequences. Combat matters and I won't pull punches, but I'm just as interested in the conversation with the quest-giver, the argument between party members over how to handle a job, and the moments where your character's choices actually change what's available to you later. New players are welcome; I'll walk you through mechanics as we go and I'm happy to help build a character if you're not sure where to start. Experienced players will find room to get creative, since this world has a thousand years of unanswered history sitting behind every quest board posting.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen together during session zero using DNDbeyond. Tying characters back stories together is extremely encouraged! Be ready to make a level one character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We use discord for chat DNDbeyond for character creation and foundryvtt hosted by forge-vtt.com. you'll need free accounts on all three of those sites but I can assist in setting them up during session zero.
What Vadinshadow brings to the table
I am a narrative dm focused on the story but try to balance all aspects of the game. During session zero we will discuss what parts of the game you players enjoy and I will design a campaign based around that. I'm very much a rule of cool dm that does use homebrew.
Homebrew rules
I will have a updated document of the homebrew rules we will be using but all of them are to make the game experience more fun for you guys

How Vadinshadow creates a safe table
Before session zero ill provide a consent checklist to fill out. We'll have a session zero to discuss all rules and expectations. My pms are always open on discord throughout the week and in game to discuss any issues. Every session will have a break. You'll be a part of our own private discord server to discuss things with each other and I'll check in with everyone privately after each game.
