About the adventure

The realm of Everden is a strange, beautiful land. Dominated by the forest known as Humblewood, it is filled with folk like the strong owl like Strig, the swift mouse like Jerbeen, and the cunning sly fox like Vulpin, among many others. Ruled over by the Birdfolk Council, the land is recovering from a great event long ago that created the Scorched Grove, a near uninhabitable land at the edge of the wood. You are a denizen of this land. Perhaps you're a clever Corvum, a vexing Vulpin, or a mischievous Mapach. Dwelling in this land, you are aware of the great rhythm of the world between life and death, and of the Amaranthine, the pantheon of gods that guide it. It's a fantastic world, full of interesting, fine feathered, and furred, folk. Shall you come and join, to save the Wood?

About me

I have loved DND since I first started playing some years ago. I've been a player for a long time, and have DM'ed off and on. I love all the stories we can tell with DND, and the cooperative story telling DND offers is amazing to me. In spare time I cuddle with my adorable kitty, and play Baldur's Gate. My day job is the gloriously dull work of retail.

Character creation

Creating your character

The playable races are only ones that exist in Humblewood, which are based on various woodland creatures such as owls, deer, foxes and the like. For classes, all official classes including artificers are allowed. Stats will be done with my enhanced array of 17, 15, 13, 12, 10 and 8 followed by racial bonuses. Also try to create a backstory with enough information I can also give you a custom experience in the world, with personal quests for your character and the like.

What Dylan brings to the table

I always strive to give my players the best experience I can. The way I, as a DM, 'win' DND is when my players are having a blast. I'm up for trying crazy stuff if you'd prefer, any time. If you want to ask about using a spell in a way that isn't in the rules, I'm open for discussion. I also want to give you guys agency to do what you want within the framing of the module, including perhaps going off the beaten path if you desire. I also try to give my player characters personal quests too, to make it more customized for you all. Along with that, I also love to add fitting music to my games to give y'all a more immersive experience.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a bonus action. Monks have extra Ki points equal to their WIS modifier. Intimidation can be powered by strength or charisma. Barbarians gain one rage back on a short rest along with all of them on a long rest.

Safety

How Dylan creates a safe table

During session zero we will go over lines and veils, to cover all topics that might happen during this to make sure that everyone is comfortable. Along with that, during the game anyone can, at any time, let me know something is bothering them and I will instantly stop the game and we can discuss it. I also make sure all my games have a halfway break, and we can take another if stuff gets really intense as well.
