About the adventure

The Witchlight Carnival comes to town every seven years like clockwork. Most people who visit are here for the Big Top Show at the end of the night. Others come for the giant snail racing, or the Fey candy that's to die for. For most, the Witchlight Carnival is just that, a carnival. Not for you. No, you have a mission here. Because seven years ago you lost something that you can't live without. Maybe it was a family heirloom, your first name, the memory of your mother. It doesn't matter what it was, because you're going to get it back. But finding it is going to prove more challenging than you expect. Soon, you'll learn that things tend to stay lost in the Feywild. This campaign starts at level 3 and will go up to level 14. We play using 5e 2024 rules, with a little homebrew and a lot of rule of cool. Sessions are role play heavy, with combats along the way. If you play your cards right, you can talk yourself out of any situation, but be prepared to roll for initiative.

About me

Welcome adventurers! As Dungeon Master, it's my job to bring players together and create a story that feels personal to everyone at the table. If you join our next session, be ready to role play, solve mysteries, and fight monsters! I've been DMing for six years now, and in that time, D&D has quickly become my favorite creative outlet. I love the game so much, I even made a youtube channel about it: https://www.youtube.com/@Mr.DungeonandMr.Dragon It doesn't matter if you're a new player, or an experienced veteran, all our welcome on our next adventure!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place prior to session one. We'll work together before the game to tie your backstory to the plot and roll for stats, or point buy if you prefer. We use 5e 2024 rules and stick to officially published content, but if you have a homebrew species or subclass you really want to play, we can always discuss and see if we can make it work. Character sheets will be made on D&DBeyond. Our maps will also be played on D&DBeyond. Starting level is 3, standard starting equipment and gold.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a Discord account to join the campaign server, and a working mic to speak with the party in sessions.

What Jonathan brings to the table

As a DM, the player experience is my top priority. That means voice acting for NPCs, ambient music for combat and exploration, giving ample time for role play, and encouraging player decisions that take the story in new directions.

How Jonathan creates a safe table

Before starting the campaign I'll send a Lines and Veils document to all the players who can fill them out and send them to me anonymously. During sessions, players will all have access to their very own private channel to communicate any concerns or comments.
