Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello! I go by Mxlpxl (he/him) online but feel free to call me Andrew. I've been playing TTRPGS since 2012 and primarily have been a Game Master during that time. The games that I’ve been enjoying since then are D&D 5 & 5.5, Daggerheart, and Fabula Ultima.Outside of running TTRPG tables I’m a middle school teacher in NYC.

Creating your character
We will create characters collaboratively during session zero which can always be altered in future sessions but we would like to create a level of cohesion and purpose. Not only in relation to each other in the party but if we care about combat efficiency. There is also the background of the world we have to go over and how your character fits into the universe which we will talk about during Session 0. Finally characters can be created on D&D Beyond or Roll20's Charactermancer.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a microphone but a webcam is optional. I will always have my webcam on to emote what is going on in the story and many of the players enjoy webcam use as well. (It is also a form of a safety tool so we can see how people are feeling and if anything makes someone uncomfortable). You will need a Roll20 account to join us there which is our virtual tabletop and you will need discord for communication purposes, thats it. What Mxlpxl brings to the table
My intention every session is for you to have the most fun. In order to facilitate that I do character voices and if I cannot I use a voice mod to make character voices. I also am well versed in the virtual tabletop Roll20 where I create avatar tokens, maps, curate playlists for ambient music, sound effects, animated graphics, personal notes, and much much more. The discord is a community I have designed for my players to enjoy the game before during and after a session. A pool of amazing people who are friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to laugh at the humor of life and the game and relate to everyday troubles.

How Mxlpxl creates a safe table
Session zero we will go over expectations (things we want to and do not want to see in the story). I will also go over a checklist of common things people do not want in games to confirm with the group. This conversation takes place simulatneously with the group and privately through DMs if someone is uncomfortable saying it in front of the table. Expectations are reviewed/renegotiated every few sessions.
