About the adventure
A frozen land has gone dark. The sun hasn't risen in weeks, the cold bites deeper than it should, and the people huddled in scattered settlements are starting to whisper that something ancient and hungry has swallowed the light itself. This is a tale of survival horror set in a brutal arctic wilderness, where the environment is as much an enemy as anything lurking in the snowdrifts. Your party will arrive in a string of isolated settlements, the ten-towns, clinging to survival along a frozen coastline, each with its own secrets, grudges, and desperate need for outside help. One town might be hiding a cult that worships something cold and patient. Another might be slowly losing its mind to starvation and superstition. Folks here have learned to fear the dark, the ice, and each other in equal measure. As you move between these pockets of civilization, you'll uncover rumors of a fallen god, a vanished people, and a creeping evil that predates memory. Beneath the frozen crust of this world lies an entire other adventure: a sprawling network of caverns and forgotten ruins carved by a long-extinct civilization, now home to monsters that have adapted to permanent darkness. Delving below means confronting threats that never see sunlight and don't intend to start now. Above ground, you'll battle blizzards, ravenous beasts driven mad by hunger, and the kind of cold that kills as surely as any blade. Resource management, tough choices, and the constant threat of exposure make every journey between towns a gamble. Why has the sun disappeared? What stirred in the depths to cause it? The answers are doled out in fragments, town by town, ruin by ruin, rewarding curious players who piece together the bigger picture. There's also enormous flexibility in how the story unfolds. Character backstories, player choices, and a bit of randomness here there (both from the fickle d20 as well as the nature of emergent storytelling in roleplaying) all shape which threats emerge and in what order, so no tables experience this frozen nightmare quite the same way. If you've ever wanted to test your resolve against nature itself, untangle a freezing mystery with a dash of horror, one clue at a time, and maybe come face to face with something that hasn't seen daylight in ten thousand years, this is the campaign for you! Bring warm clothes, sharp wits, and a healthy fear of the dark.

About me
Hi there! I’m Robin, and I’ve been running Dungeons & Dragons games since 2015. That year, I first discovered TTRPGs and instantly fell in love with the hobby. It quickly became a creative calling: building worlds, guiding adventurers, and crafting stories that leave lasting impressions on people. I care most about creating experiences that feel alive and emotionally grounded. I want players to feel immersed in the story; this means they make meaningful choices and form real connections. My bachelor's in anthropology, paired with my love for worldbuilding, has given me the tools to create detailed, unique, and memorable cultures and societies for my own campaign settings. Whether the tone leans toward epic, tragic, or lighthearted, my focus is always on immersion, character-driven storytelling, and building a table where everyone feels safe and excited to roleplay. Over the years, I’ve run games for a wide range of players and personalities, and I’ve learned that the best sessions come from trust and communication. I love adapting to different playstyles and weaving each player’s imagination into the adventure. If you’re looking for a game that values story, character, and genuine collaboration, I'd love to see you at my table. The adventure’s waiting, and there’s always room for one more!

Creating your character
- Character creation will take place during session 0, but feel free to workshop ideas with me privately by messaging beforehand. - Everyone will roll 4d6 (drop lowest), down the line, and start with a free feat. - If unsatisfied with rolls, you may forfeit your free feat for one of the following options: fall back on point buy, reroll down the line again, or rearrange where your initial rolls are placed. - Alternatively, you may have the free feat and start with point buy and forgo rolling altogether. - Variant Human and Custom Lineage are not permitted. - The following sources are allowed for character creation and leveling up in this game: Player's Handbook (2014) Xanathar's Guide to Everything Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Volo's Guide to Monsters Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide If there's something you'd like to use that isn't featured in these book listed above, feel free to ask me about it anyway, and I'll see if we can work something out.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To prepare for this game, make sure you have a discord account and a roll20 account. Also, be sure that you have a stable internet connection and suitable equipment for online voice chat! :)
What Robin brings to the table
When I run the game, I give my players a premium experience by enriching my sessions with the following: - Voice Acting: I do my absolute best to give evocative and character-appropriate voices to pretty much all of the NPCs that you'll be interacting with. - Music: I make use of a discord bot that plays music during our sessions, and I try to constantly make sure whatever track is on is as fitting as it can be for the current scene. For pivotal boss fights, I usually pick out specific tracks days ahead of time. - I own all of the necessary digital tools on Roll20 that you'll need to make your 2014 5e character, in addition to a Roll20 Pro subscription that enhances our games with dynamic lighting and the occasional API script to smooth things out. - I try to make player-favoring rulings as often as I reasonably can. I want everyone to have fun at my table, so when I'm usually willing to let a rule or two bend here and there if adhering to it wouldn't really enrich the overall table's enjoyment. - I spend hours preparing and I'm dedicated to showing up every single week. Additionally, I make myself very available via DMs if my players ever have questions about my games in between sessions or just want to chat.
Homebrew rules
There aren't any homebrew rules that I automatically place on any game without getting a consensus from my party, but here is a list of some potential homebrew rules/houserules that we'll be discussing during session 0: - Player Characters can enter a "helpless" state at 0 HP instead of becoming unconscious. - Is flanking used? - Perkins' Crit rules? - Uncapping fall damage? Please let me know before or during our session 0 if there are any other houserules/homebrew rules that you'd like to be considered for the game :)

How Robin creates a safe table
I will privately ask all players to let me know if there are any specific themes or types of content that they are uncomfortable with, and I will make sure everyone else in the party is aware of what is off limits during our session 0. Moreover, I build in halfway point breaks into my sessions and I like to take a few minutes at the end of every session to debrief and give players a chance to give feedback on the session without any fear of judgement or shame. I always strive to make sure that everyone at my table is comfortable and safe while having a good time!
