About the adventure
The country town of Clarksville seemed like the furthest place from adventure in the Stardust Rhapsody. This little community in the middle of nowhere has been crushed under the thumb of megacorporations to milk it dry with tourism and excessive consumerism. The heroes of this tale will feel trapped and look to the stars, wishing for escape, and the stars answer. Fate will take a twist to get them involved in a conflict with several factions, including the very cosmology of the galaxy itself! Will our heroes find themselves among the stars and restore harmony, or will war make them and everyone with them fall into the void? The players' choices and the dice will decide as they begin their Neon Odyssey!

About me
I'm just your average 30-something guy living out in the sticks of the Black Hills with a love of stories and adventure. Whether you're looking to use new rules for your D&D games, learning to play tabletop RPGs, or just looking for a late-night one-shot, my services are open to run your sessions and roll some dice with friends and strangers alike! Ever since a friend let me read a 3rd Edition Monster Manual at summer camp, I've been captivated by D&D lore. I decided to share this passion by starting my own games, gathering friends and family to play with starter kits. Over time, I've explored settings like the Mists of Ravenloft and the Islands of Kozakura, learning from the characters and stories they presented. After years of experience, I am now here to help you bring your tale to life! I am curious about what you will bring to the table, and I will be more than happy to guide you into the world of TTRPGs! I offer a variety of discounts to players who purchase my services. These include "Half-Off Holidays", "BOGOHO Buddies", and "DnDate Nights". Check with me to qualify. Now offering FREE first sessions! If you are in the Northern Black Hills area, I am also offering in-person sessions to reserve. I can be hired for one-shots, parties, or just a simple gathering of friends to roll dice and tell stories. Just tell me the place and time, and I'll see if I can arrange my schedule to make a good game night!

Creating your character
Characters can be created using either the 5e or 5.5e rules. Since this will be in person, any method of character sheets, be it pen and paper or digital, will be allowed. We can work together on the sheets and tackle each step in any order you want, whether we start with the character's concept or the array of numbers for the mechanics.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Preparation will require a pen or pencil, a character sheet and any means of rolling dice you can bring. You can also bring the "Basic Rules (5.5e)" as a quick reference while you play. Journals are optional too for note taking.
What Curtis brings to the table
I will bring the physical books of the 2014 rules and provide what I can from my Roll20 Compendium of the 5.5e rules with my laptop. If you need digital access, I can make a table to share the rules through Roll20 accounts. PDFs of the Neon Odyssey playtest will also be provided through links.
Homebrew rules
The following rules are subject to change once the early access playtest materials are released by Legends of Avantris: Warlocks and sorcerers can choose between Intelligence or Charisma as their spellcasting abilities. Barbarians can choose three damage types they are resistant to each time they rage. The monks' Deflect Missiles feature can also work on radiant and lightning damage. Once per day, clerics can change the creature type of their Turn Undead feature to any other type of their choice. Wizards use special devices to enter codes for their spells and don't need verbal components.

How Curtis creates a safe table
I will provide a document for any table rules that must be covered. This is an open-door campaign, so players can come and go as required. Please inform me in advance if you won't attend a session or need to leave early. I also have the table open for stars and wishes for comments on what works and what needs to be improved for future sessions. I'm always looking for ways to make sure my players are enjoying their time at the table. Players who disrespect these rules receive two warnings, after which the offender will be removed.
