About the adventure

[I do not allow the use of GenAI in my games.] You're a daring scoundrel trying to build a criminal entreprise on the streets of a retro-futuristic dystopia! As part of a fledgling crew, you will try to thrive amidst the theeming threats of rival gangs, scheming spy agencies, paranormal entities, corrupt cops, and the irresistible pull of your own vices. Will you be a crew of dealers, peddling your product on the streets, a crew of militants pushing for revolutionary change, or something else entirely? This is a game for players who crave high-stakes personal intrigue and daring heists where your choices shape the city's (and your own!) fate. If you love Crime Capers like Ocean's Eleven or the Italian Job, mixed with the Spy Fiction of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and the sci-fi weirdness of 1984, this crew is for you. In This Campaign, You Will: 🗡️ Navigate a web of spies and intrigue to play the city's most powerful factions against each other. 🗡️ Plan and execute thrilling heists, from back-alley brawls to infiltrating the Foundation's underground vaults. 🗡️ Build your crew's reputation and turf, carving out a name for yourselves in the criminal underworld while the law closes in. 🗡️ Star in a cinematic story where your choices drive a narrative of high drama, grim humor, and morally ambiguous decisions. Ready to build your criminal empire? Join the crew and stake your claim in the city of Duskvol!

About me

Hi, I'm Walid! 👋 I have been hooked on TTRPGs since 2015. Over the last decade, I’ve been running weekly one-shots across dozens of systems and managing epic, long-term campaigns. I bring a decade of passion to every session! My Experience: I have been running games for nearly a decade, fueled by a passion for collaborative creativity. My goal is to create a dynamic table where the narrative breathes. I thrive on reading the room—knowing exactly when to lean into a dramatic beat or when to let the table erupt in laughter. Play with me if you want a GM who is as invested in your character's ups and downs as you are. My Background: I discovered the hobby in 2015 via Actual Plays and haven't looked back. I have experience with a vast library of indie systems (my faves!) and the industry's biggest titles. Outside the Game: When I'm not prepping sessions (or organizing my life via Excel spreadsheets), I am studying Philosophy and Political Science in Montréal. I love cinema, video games, and showing off my cat to my players. Let's tell a story together :)

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created entirely during Session 0, as this process will likely be strongly influenced by what Crew the group decides to create! If you'd like to take a look at the mechanics and character creation before Session 0, I recommend you take a look at the Player's Kit, which can be found at this link: https://bladesinthedark.com/sites/default/files/blades_playerkit_v8_2.pdf

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Mics are required, cameras are optional but recommended! All you need to play is a Forge and Discord account.

What Walid brings to the table

Most importantly, I consider players to be the driving force of any story! I'm here to react to your inputs, your wants and needs for the story. I use ambient music and sound effects on Discord to set the tone at the table. I very much enjoy doing character voices, roleplaying intense moments, letting characters take the spotlight when needed! I also enjoy giving creative inputs to my players in the heat of the moment. Allowing them to describe an NPC, tell me something about a neighborhood or a faction... If that's something you think you'll enjoy, I am very excited to have you at my table! Worldbuilding is my strong suit, I love going in depths and customizing things to my table's liking.

Safety

How Walid creates a safe table

Session 0 will be an opportunity for us to talk about Lines and Veils (which will be able to be brought to the table anonymously), as well as set the tone more specifically with everyone. This is an opportunity to facilitate our cooperation and see if you mesh with the group! My games have an Open Door policy: you are free to leave the virtual table and the game as a whole at any moment without owing an explanation and without judgement. For our in-session safety tools, I use Script Change through a Foundry add-on, which I'll explain during Session 0. In brief, Script Change is a safety tool that allows to control the pacing of the game both for comfort and to give input to the GM during our session. You can learn more about it here: https://thoughty.itch.io/script-change
