About the adventure

A Ravenloft Mini-Adventure for Level 9 Characters The mists of Barovia thicken, carrying the scent of freshly turned earth and ancient copper. In the shadows of the Bloodline Tavern, a nervous contact named Ernst Larnak offers a hefty purse of 2,500 GP for a seemingly simple task: investigate the desecrated churchyards of ruined Berez. But in the Land of the Mists, nothing is ever simple. Beneath the shattered graves lies a hidden Von Zarovich sanctuary, home to a deadly family feud. Lyssa von Zarovich, a powerful vampire noble, plots to usurp Count Strahd himself. To do it, she has engineered horrific, mind-bending monstrosities immune to the Dark Lord's will—and your party is the ultimate test subject. Will you survive the horrors of the crypt, or become just another bloodless memory in the fog? Slots are limited. Step into the mists if you dare.

About me

Hi there! I'm a 28-year-old forever storyteller who fell head over heels for Dungeons & Dragons about three years ago. What started as a curiosity quickly turned into a deep passion (obsession?), and it wasn’t long before I found myself on the other side of the screen, GMing and creating worlds of my own. I’m especially drawn to the narrative side of D&D, crafting heartfelt and character-driven stories where players can really live in the moment. I love cozy games full of wonder, emotion, and rich roleplay opportunities. My goal is always to create a safe, welcoming space where your character can shine and grow, and where small, quiet moments are just as meaningful as epic quests. When I’m not running games, you’ll find me reading fantasy novels, writing, or playing story-rich video games or just a cozy farming-sim. If you’re looking for a game that feels like settling into a warm storybook with friends, I’d love to have you at my table.

Character creation

Creating your character

I absolutely love Character Creation - this will happen on Roll20 prior to our first session where we will work together to build the character that you want to play.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I will have a private chat with each player discussing the themes of the game and how to make their characters if they're unfamiliar with Roll20. A free Discord & Roll20 is all the player needs to have set-up to join!

What Wildflower brings to the table

I use Roll20 for all of my D&D games and have an extensive compendium of classes, races, and subclasses to choose from for character creation. I use excellent maps from Ori the Cartographer & Cze + Peku for our combat sessions.

Homebrew rules

Critical Damage When you land a critical hit, it’s a moment of glory! Critical damage is calculated by adding your rolled damage plus the maximum of your damage die. Example: A crit with a weapon dealing 1d8 would be your roll + 8 (the max for a d8). Health Potions Bonus Action: Drinking a health potion as a bonus action means you must roll for the amount healed. Full Action: Taking your full action to use a potion lets you heal the maximum amount. Example: A standard potion of healing (2d4+2) will restore 10 HP when using a full action. Handing someone a potion in combat is a bonus action! Flanking When you and an ally are flanking (opposite sides) of an enemy you can get +1 to attacks. No PvP Player vs. Player combat is not allowed. We're here to adventure together, not against each other. Cooperation and teamwork are the heart of our stories. Alignment Restrictions Evil alignments are not permitted, unless the entire party agrees to play an evil campaign. We aim for harmony and shared goals, ensuring that every adventurer has a role in the group's story. Tactical Combat & Holding Initiative Tactical combat is encouraged! Players can work together in battle, and you’re allowed to hold your turn to act simultaneously with another player. Use this to coordinate devastating combos and work together as a team! No Meta-Gaming: Please keep player knowledge and character knowledge separate. Looking up monster stats during the game can spoil surprises and take away from the fun of discovery. Trust me to balance encounters, I promise your characters will always have a fair shot! Equipping & Unequipping Weapons: Once combat begins, the weapon you start your turn with is the one you fight with. You cannot swap from a two-handed weapon to dual wielding (or vice versa) during your turn. You may only switch weapons freely if both are one-handed. This counts for holding a spell casting focus as well. Off-Hand Attacks: When you take the Attack action with a one-handed melee weapon, you may use your bonus action to make one off-hand attack with a different one-handed melee weapon. Off-hand attacks cannot be made with ranged or two-handed weapons, and spellcasters cannot use them. Unless you have the Dual Wielder feat, the off-hand attack must be made with a light weapon, it does not add your ability modifier to its damage, and it cannot be combined with the Nick feature. The Dual Wielder feat removes the light-weapon restriction, allows you to add your ability modifier to both attacks, and permits the use of Nick alongside two-weapon fighting. Exhaustion: Your PC will take a level of exhaustion for every time they go down to 0 HP Medicine Checks: DC 10 Medicine check will stabilize a party member with 0 HP. DC 15 Medicine check will bring them back to 1 HP Inspiration: You can stack Inspiration to 3 - If you have 3 inspirations stored and want to give all of them for a guaranteed critical success you can! (Only for ability checks and attacks)

Safety

How Wildflower creates a safe table

Safety is incredibly important in games of this nature. Session zero will be used to discuss safety features and how to use them in game. An extensive list of trigger warnings will be shared and discussed privately as well as in session zero so each player knows exactly what to expect before deciding to join this game. Check-Ins will happen before and after sessions and I make use of stars & wishes.
