About the adventure
☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ Cairan is a world of over 80 percent water, where the known world consists of one lone continent and random islands. Travel and commerce run through one "official" source - the Mobius Collective. But there are also independent privateers that make their trade doing the same...and it's these independent privateers that the Collective wants to eliminate. You are part of a crew of privateers trying to make their way through the world as a "ship for hire" - for anything from simple transport of cargo and passengers to more dangerous scenarios. As your ship makes a name for itself among the elite of the privateers, can you stay ahead of the corporate conglomerate trying to eradicate their competition, or will your last mission end in a watery grave? ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ 🎇 I especially welcome beginners to D&D, LGBTQIA+ players, and neurodivergent players🎇, especially those that have had negative experiences at previous tables. Let me be a safe, fun space and atmosphere for you to truly enjoy playing again.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I strive to be a place where players new and experienced can come and tell stories together in a safe, fun environment, and I have over 30 years of TTRPG experience that I use to bring these desires to the table. What I want for my players is simple; to have fun, however I am able to provide that to them. I espeically want players who have had bad table experiences in the past or players who have struggled with neurodiversity issues to find their TTRPG "home" with me. I like to joke that my DM/GM aesthetic is "dad jokes and innuendo", but I also strive to make the experience as immersive as the players wish it to be/are able to process. It is my sincerest wish that we start as clients, but end up friends, whether it's a one-shot or a campaign. I look forward to sharing a table with you soon.

Creating your character
You will create your characters on D&D Beyond using the 2024 Character Creation rules.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Access to Discord and a mic are mandatory. Webcams are encouraged but not essential. Completion of the Lines and Veils worksheet prior to Session 0 as well as a readthrough of the Table Expectations are encouraged. Access to a browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) to access Roll20 is highly encouraged but can be worked around as needed based on player technology limitations.
What Fluffy the Violet GM (Shawn) brings to the table
I will provide Roll20 as the VTT, using maps and tokens for tactical combat and specific site exploration, with some Theater of the Mind mixed in. Necessary content to create characters will be provided through D&D Beyond. That said, I also can work with players who have limited access to being online. I do work with character voices and encourage roleplay, but will work with player experience level as well. I have nearly 30 years of experience as a DM, and I love to take things the player's give me to help build the blocks of the story that your characters will live through. I also love ambient music, but not all players do, so I will work with the rest of the table to find where our "sweet spot" is. I am a combination of being a "Rules As Interpreted" DM and a Rule of Cool DM depending on the situation and what the players give me to work with. Most importantly, my table is a safe space for all who would be a part of it. Anyone not respecting the safe space has no place at my table. I am also a neurodivergent DM who regularly works with neurodivergent players to make their experience as fun and stress-free as possible!
Homebrew rules
Potions consumed as a bonus action will roll for effectiveness, while potions consumed as an action will automatically heal for maximum. On a critical hit in combat, you determine damage by calculating the maximum damage that one attack can cause with your method of attack, then you roll the damage and add it to the total.

Safety
How Fluffy the Violet GM (Shawn) creates a safe table
I will provide a Lines and Veils document for you to complete prior to Session 0 that will dictate content that will either not be addressed at all or "veiled" (glossed over), **including any content listed (or not necessarily listed) in the Content Warnings**. I handle Luxton Technique using verbal equivalents to X, N and 0 cards. Session 0 will discuss the lines and veils and other safety tools in detail and how they will be implemented. Stars and Wishes will begin with Session 1
