About the adventure

~Book III of the Regencia Series: New Reign~ Years ago, House Sterling was little more than a successful middle-class family, UNTIL their discovery of the richest gemstone mines in Regencia provided the wealth on which they established Sterling Bank- a financial institution capable of national proportions. This catapulted them into the highest ranks of the aristocracy, where elegant ballrooms, political rivalries, dangerous courtships, and ancient conspiracies proved every bit as deadly as monsters and magic. Book I (Shadows & Blood Ties) culminated in the fall of Regencia's cursed royal dynasty and the exposure of a dark cult that had corrupted the nation's faith from within. Book II (Proper War) plunged the kingdom into revolution. Alliances were forged, families divided, and sacrifices made as the struggle for the crown reshaped Regencia forever. By its end, an unlikely queen had risen, old enemies sought redemption, and even the grave yielded up its minions in an effort to claim the nation for its own. A kingdom desperate to rebuild, even as the pillars of power crumble, it becomes clear that the future and the past are woven together in bonds and magics not yet fully realized. Now, nearly one year later, Book III: New Reign begins. Welcome to Regencia—a Regency-inspired fantasy where noble houses wield hereditary magic, reputation is as valuable as gold, and every whispered secret can alter the fate of a kingdom. Here, marriages forge alliances, newspapers shape public opinion, fortunes rise and fall overnight, and beneath every grand estate lies another mystery waiting to be uncovered. This is a story-driven campaign where character development, relationships, political intrigue, mystery, and collaborative storytelling take center stage alongside exploration and combat. Whether attending glittering balls, negotiating with rival noble houses, investigating ancient conspiracies, or defending the realm from supernatural horrors, your choices will shape not only your own legacy—but the future of an entire kingdom. If you love Jane Austen, Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, The Lord of the Rings, Critical Role, Game of Thrones or character-driven fantasy where romance, drama, mystery, and heroism are just as important as battle, then welcome to Regencia. A kingdom has survived its darkest hour. Now comes the harder question: What kind of future will you build, and who else might want Regencia’s future for their own?

About me

Mae govannen'! Wow, isn't Dungeons & Dragons the coolest ever?! That is why I've made it such a big part of my life. I am a Dungeon Master, American Sign Language Interpreter, Freelance Artist, and Actor! ~DMing~ I am a DM/GM that absolutely loves world-building, roleplaying, and collaborative storytelling with other creatives. I've completed 5 full-term campaigns thus far, each averaging about a year and a half: 1- Out of the Abyss/Homebrew, 2- Candlekeep Mysteries-influenced Homebrew, 3- "Murder in Mjölnir"- a completely Homebrewed Viking-themed campaign which finished up in August 2023, and finally- I just finished my 4th and 5th projects (and first fully-online campaigns) called "Book I - Shadows & Blood Ties: A Regencia Story" & "Book II - Proper War: A Regencia Story", each full of political intrigue, drama, and etiquette! (Check out the World of Regencia and campaign story on YouTube and WorldAnvil.com if you're interesting in following the Sterling family as they navigate the Aristocracy!) ~Art~ I do a lot of art! I have created maps for RPGs, designed an original board game with plans to market it and follow up with expansions, produce commission works, and use my art to add magic to the overall experience of my games! ~Acting~ I have a theatrical and film background: started acting on stage in 6th grade, trained theatrically in college, won the Improv category gold medal at an international talent competition, lived in LA for a time working as a signed Actor in the film industry, and have narrated four audiobooks. I make sure that my games are *everyone-friendly* spaces. (LGBTQ+, the spectrum of political opinions, religious/non-religious, etc.) If you ever want to play with me- send me a message. I'd love to connect. 'No veren', Chantry (ENFJ, Enneagram4wing3, Ravenclaw)

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is to be handled before Session 1, and during Session 0 should that apply. You will enjoy my games better with story-driven character creation over min-maxing approaches, and I don't allow disruptive powergaming. Create a flawed hero that can grow and contribute to the overall party. Dynamic characters, designed to be integrated into the campaign world, can be formed via group discussion on our campaign Discord page and communication with the DM, should that be desired or required. I like to help my Players create a Character that will be able to be written into story plots as much as possible. KNOW your Character as well as makes sense, and come ready for them to grow, change, and develop into something even better! I typically use stat Point Buy for my games, with the base starting level at 3 for new games, unless otherwise specified. I love creativity, so if you have fun ideas/thoughts of how you might personalize your character- ask me!

The current party

There are two Players returning from Regencia campaigns (aka Books) 1, and 2. They will be reprising their same characters, offering this ongoing epic a sense of authenticity and depth. They are both invested, passionate Players and work hard to prioritize Party harmony. For Book 3, I am looking for 2-3 new Players to join the legacy of Regencia! I hope that this mix of returning and new Players to our table will provide comfortability with the world and my DMing style, while adding new, exciting dynamics to the collective experience. I am looking for Players who can navigate representing a singular hero, unique and alive in the world *WHILE* adding to the overall group plot, Party story, and fellow PC's experiences! Think of it like the X-Men - each is a hero in their own right, yet TOGETHER is how they create a story worth following, and it's together that they solve their problems. This campaign is not for lazy, uninvested, or impatient Players. It is for the gamer that loves lore-diving, savoring small, wholesome moments as well as the terrifying or epic, and has a passion for meaningful storytelling through the eyes of a character they hope to keep with them for a long time! Creative, historical drama, fantasy, romance, and political intrigue fans that are team players- this is for you!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I require my Players to have: ~Some type of good webcam/video camera to stream their face in real-time during sessions. (Phone camera's don't count, except for temporary or special circumstances.) ~A clear and capable mic, so that not only the recording software can pick up their voice, but also so that we don't get pulled out of scenes due to frequent technical difficulties. ~Satisfactory lighting, making their face clear and readable. ~Some type of digital setup for Player referencing during sessions- whether at a computer, laptop, by tablet, something. My Players need to have Discord up and running (cameras on as much as possible), and also have the Campaign Home website (WorldAnvil.com) pulled up for reference to the maps, world information, and images I share there during sessions. ~A free (or paid) WorldAnvil.com account, so that you can join my campaign and have access to the world building and content provided there. ~A free (or paid) DnDBeyond.com account, so that Player Character sheets can be made and managed, and be referenced by the DM. ~A Discord account/profile, as that is the platform in which my games are streamed, and where group discussions, post-by-plays, and announcements will be hosted. ~To sign the Campaign contract, stating you are aware of the expectations, boundaries, rules, and services offered.

What Lord Chantry brings to the table

As a DM, I offer the following things to those who play at my "table": ~A vibrant world of information, articles, NPCs, maps, and *during-gameplay* content boards and visual sharing screens via WorldAnvil.com! ~Content on, and help navigating, D&D Beyond! ~An extensive range of character voices, believable emotion, and roleplay experience! ~A lifetime of personal and professional acting skills and tools, adding fun and believability to the story! ~Recorded and professionally edited videos of our sessions posted to my YouTube D&D content channel, to be watched back for detailed review and enjoyment, saved for resume and memory's sake, and shared to help promote the amazing community passion that is D&D! ~Hand-drawn content like world/city/location maps for clarity of gameplay and thematic flavor- freely given to my Players to enjoy and utilize during the campaign! ~A belief that rules should never get in the way of beautiful storytelling- as long as we are considerate, respectful, and can provide good reasons for things... I am very open to bending the meta-structure that dictates our game. That being said, I am not opposed to tragic occurrences, nor unbelievable successes, and like to respect fate's roll of the dice as often as possible! ~ I expect my Players to commit to prioritizing our campaign in their schedules (within reason, and communication goes a long way toward promoting compromises). I expect my Players to put in the effort regarding learning about the world we're playing in, regarding their own character creation and management throughout, and to show up for games ready to engage, interact, and have fun weaving their part of the tapestry. I will provide the same, back, for my Players! ~No one is going to get penalized for running late to a session, or having to miss due to occasional schedule conflicts. I am incredibly flexible, keeping to a goal start time with a 15 min. grace window, and an ish-goal end time, with the desire that everyone be flexible on session end times fluctuating depending on the week, and what's happening in-game! ~I am an inclusive, non-judgmental leader who strives to provide a safe space to be one's self around, and to be approached with questions and concerns!

Safety

How Lord Chantry creates a safe table

I am always open to having private or group discussions with my Players, and will try and check in periodically with them if I have not heard any feedback from them in some time, positive or negative. If any kind of discrimination, bullying, or unwanted peer pressure happens during sessions- my approach is to put a stop to it calmly, clearly, and quickly, when possible. Whether that reminder of our group policies needs to happen to the whole group, publicly, or to individuals privately, will be judged per occurrence to the best of my abilities. As the DM, I take and accept the responsibility to ensure our campaign's Code of Conduct is adhered to. I ask that my Players also try and send potential issues to be handled by me, and to let me address concerns whenever possible.
