About the adventure
Time is a luxury often reserved for the Elders. Neonates are forced to toil and scrape for their survival in a world dominated by uncaring, out of touch, wealthy, powerful monsters who enjoy their leisure and privilege far from the worries of the average Kindred. For those not so blessed with Generation and wealth, time is simply a fleeting dream. That feels a lot like real life. As we go through the daily grind and long for the weekend, we seek moments of reprieve and relief where we can pretend things are somehow different. A lot of us just don't have the schedules to support ongoing role playing campaigns. If that's a familiar problem, this might be the game for you. -------------- NO AI is used or allowed. AI is a deal breaker for me. PLAYER CHARACTERS are employees of a Kindred owned and controlled pharmaceutical corporation. DALLAS, TEXAS is home to the corporate headquarters. Our story takes place there. V20 provides the base mechanics four our modified Quest system. PLAY-BY-POST allows you to pop in and out as your schedule allows. SCENE-A-WEEK provides a storyteller prompt and oversight at a scheduled time each week, prompting RP and progressing the plot. SESSION TIMES are my deadline to post the new Scene or Act. Players have flexibility on when to play during the week. MONTHLY ACTS are launched at the "session time" each month, moving the plot to its climax at a pace comfortable for busy players. FIVE ACT STRUCTURE provides enough play time to give depth while keeping it short for players who can't commit to long games. CHARACTER DRIVEN role play occurs throughout the week, filling in details and painting the bigger picture. PLAYER CHANNELS are used to do bookkeeping and to provide in-character information unique to your character. -------------- Knowledge of Vampire: the Masquerade is not necessary, though long time players might enjoy this departure from traditional setting and story.

About me
🎲 - Your next storyteller Tau, taiguey, hola, marhaba, and hello! I'm Quinn! I have spent my life studying the history and evolution of story and storytelling and want to carry on the traditions I have been taught and have learned. I'm a reconnecting Taino trying to decolonize my gaming. I truly hope I am providing a safe game space for players who are often excluded or made to feel uncomfortable in more mainstream spaces. 🧑🧑🧒 - Stay-at-home parent I can't keep a traditional work schedule, so I enjoy life as a stay at home parent instead. It gives me the flexibility to run games for people whose schedules are less flexible. I remember keeping those odd hours and being swamped with work. My goal is to help get everyone gaming, whenever that is.

Creating your character
A lot of players like to come with a character sheet prepped and ready, while others want 1-on-1 to get it done. I'm fine with both. In both cases, use the Vampire: the Masquerade 20th Anniversary rules. Typically, we do character creation on Discord using a shared channel for group discussion and player channels to get into details. Character creation can begin at any time prior to or after campaign launch. Once a character is approved the player is encouraged to dive right into RP. The Storyteller will help facilitate this. Representation of marginalized groups is going to be heavily scrutinized. I want people to play things outside their direct personal experience, but I am strict about cultural appropriation and respect. It is ok to struggle, it's how we learn. If you are not comfortable with this boundary, please feel free to play things you feel more closely related to.
The ideal coterie will be made up of players who enjoy building off each other's ideas in "yes, and..." style role play. Your characters can be at odds, and players can even disagree on goals and actions, but the end goal is a shared fiction that is unique to this group. Stories are built around the strengths and weaknesses of the active characters and, more importantly, grown from the interests of the active players.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
If you want to have a character concept and background, that would be great. If you want to build a V20 sheet, that's cool too. If not, we'll do all that together once we get you onto the Discord and Roll20.
What Quinn Alej brings to the table
The "monthly game session" is broken up into 4 scenarios per act. Each act runs for one week. Each scenario is launched at a scheduled day and time, with each act beginning at our monthly session date. This provides a game that parents, professionals, students, and other busy people with unreasonably difficult schedules can play.
Homebrew rules
Strip away the fluff and edginess, and take away the need to carve out entire days to roll dice, and you are left with Kindreddix Pharmacorps, the solution for your role playing deficiency. Using a modified Quest system based on the V5 mechanics and a loose interpretation of the Masquerade lore, we will be weaving a shared story set in a modern, corporatist World of Darkness. Role Play will occur in a play-by-post format on our Discord. Instead of building and rolling unique dice pools every time a challenge arises, we use your PC stats to roll in advance and spend Blood, Willpower, and health levels to raise base successes to meet Challenge Ratings. This reduces the need to monitor dice rolls, difficulties, and discuss it at length. Also, even the World of Darkness books say that everything that's canon might not be, and that it's up to the ST. Please know that I adjust canon as needed for the ppurposes of the game, though I do strive for consistency.

How Quinn Alej creates a safe table
We use a checklist/survey to make it easy for players to communicate base concerns, and we keep the door open to discuss more complex needs. Players are free to remove themselves from any scenario or scene at any time without penalty to their character. I am known to remove players who make game spaces unsafe. X,N, and O are a little less common in this style of play, but I incorporate them.
