About the adventure
Deep in the heart of the Koronus Expanse lie many threats. Among them, the pirates are the most common threat for people. However lately pirate crews have dwindled. Entire salvage crews have vanished aboard ships leaving little more than piles of gore where they once fell, and a strange green fungus that grows in even the most inhospitable environments. Voices have been rising up, calling for some to do something, figure out what's causing the issues and squash them. Entire colonies are ready to swear allegiance to any Rogue Trader willing to make the Expanse safer for everyone. This is where you come in. Your character is brought onto a new Rogue Traders retinue to replace one of the fallen officers that he would routinely send down to the surface to deal with issues deemed below him. His dynasty, while a newer one than some of the others that call the Expanse home is still powerful in it's own right and you know that under his lead you will be brought to riches the likes of which you were never able to dream of. Gold, glory, wrath, and gunpowder are the tenets you live by now. Whether for better or for worse, this will be what you live, breathe, and die for. All matter of creatures from various wakes of life live aboard this ship and you've heard tell that even lurking in it's deepest bowels are the Rogue Traders personal Xenos... ones who may or may not be willing to help you... Some of which may even hold secret understanding to the crisis laying ahead of you.

About me
Experienced and inclusive DM accustomed to a variety of player styles. I started playing roleplaying games as a young child with my uncle and siblings, and migrated to making my own campaigns to run in my teenage years and haven't stopped yet! Love to homebrew my own content- from entire worlds and religious systems to just small content like races and classes.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
I will kindly ask that the players agree to leave THE Rogue Trader as an NPC role as I find that the power dynamic can feel stressed for a lot of big decisions when it all boils down to "I'm the Rogue Trader, too bad." or other issues. Characters will begin at rank 1 in the core book and will have the majority of the supplements available for character creation. Character creation is requested to occur in the free session 0 provided to everyone so that we can make sure that everyone's characters work well as a team. I am usually available and open to speak to about possibly using slightly different rules as needed and will always strike a bargain to get something your class normally wouldn't get.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To prepare for this game I request that people at the very least have a Discord account as that is where the bulk of the game is run for the voice chats. I will set up a server for the group on it and send invites out to the players. Secondly I request that you have access to a Steam account with Tabletop simulator on it though I can easily stream the map to the players who can't get it or simply do not want to get the game.
What Evan Brown (Fanatic Crab) brings to the table
As something I find so critical to the gameplay segment I provide a free session 0 to all players on my sessions! To provide more for the players I will often have NPC characters set up in the discord and a side section for on-the-ship style roleplay about general character life. I find that this helps bring the crew together and expand on the relationships that make the ship feel more alive than just simply a vehicle from point A to point B. Another thing that I try to provide for the players is the opportunity to always discuss any rulings or other issues that they may see as unfair. I usually stick closer to the Rule of Cool than I do to Rules as Written and am only happy to oblige when it comes to changing something at the table as long as it works for everyone. I leave a lot up to the popular vote at the table so that it feels like everyones opinion on a matter is heard rather than just skimmed over. After votes in the discord I tend to give in-story details about how the results have turned out. (i.e a short blurb about what the scout squad finds if you decide to send them into the ruins.) I will usually attempt a series of character voices and might be able to use my voice modulator on occasions but being honest, a lot of characters may end up with similar voices to each other.
Homebrew rules
Most rules are fairly open ended in this system so I am always happy to discuss them on an as needed basis and will usually rule in the favour of the player.

Safety
How Evan Brown (Fanatic Crab) creates a safe table
At my table I do a free session 0 where I do my best to go over the type of content you might run into and I will discuss with the party what lines and limitations everyone has that they ask me not to cross. With this in mind I do ask that you please try to keep it in mind for the session 0 so that I can mark it all down neatly for any possible story writing and to please ensure that you look at the content warnings to see if the game is for you. In Rogue Trader it can be a fairly unforgiving system so there's a lot of chances for potential traumas to arise from it. I will always do my best to limit character deaths/major injuries but being an entirely baked in segment of the game there's only so much I can guarantee. I ask that you please inform me of any pronouns you may have when you join as I would very much hate to misgender and upset any of my players.
