About the adventure

Some secrets are written in blood. Others are bound in the Libris Nocturnum. Step into a dark fantasy anthology where every dark corner hides a unique terror. Chronicles of the Midnight Realm is a series of grim, self-contained grimdark adventures where your survival depends entirely on your wits, your steel, and your willingness to face the unholy. From cursed hamlets choked by fog to ancient crypts where the dead refuse to rest, each chapter of this campaign tells a new story of dark magic, cursed artifacts, and cosmic dread. Perfect for players who love high-stakes tactical combat, heavy atmospheric roleplay, and a world where every choice has a cost. Your characters will grow, face new horrors, and see if they have what it takes to survive the dark.

About me

I've been a gamer my whole life. Final Fantasy VII hooked me on RPGs, and playing HeroQuest with my brothers started it all. Revisiting those games recently reignited my passion for D&D. I love games like Baldur's Gate where your choices actually change the world. I stepped up to GM when my brother got too busy to run our group's game, and it was the best choice I ever made. If you want a game where your character truly lives on, your seat is ready.

What Cade Ironkettle brings to the table

My GM Style: Cinematic Horror & Rule of Cool I am a massive horror fan—think classic Evil Dead vibes. That means while my games feature grim, intense elements (including descriptive gore, mutilation, and dark psychological themes), the ultimate goal at my table is to heb fun, joke around, and tell a badass story together. Here is what you can expect when you sit at my table: The Rule of Cool: If you want to try something epic dat isn't strictly in the rulebook but makes sense for your character and the scene, I will almost always say: "You can certainly try." Atmosphere Over Voices: I'll be honest—I am still working on perfecting my NPC voices, so you won't get a professional voice actor. Instead, I focus 100% of my energy on building thick cinematic tension, using soundscapes, and pacing the narrative to give you a genuine horror experience. Lighthearted Out-of-Character Vibe: We are here to play a game. Even when your characters are fighting for their lives against terrifying monsters, we as players are going to laugh, throw out horror movie references, and enjoy the ride.

Safety

How Cade Ironkettle creates a safe table

DM Note: This is a horror anthology featuring grim elements, but we are here to tell a thrilling story together, not to cross personal boundaries. We maintain a strict line between cinematic tension and player comfort. Safety Tools In-Use: Lines and Veils, X-Card (via Foundry/Discord digital triggers), and structured debriefs after intense sessions. Core Themes & Warnings: Gore, undead/necromancy, psychological suspense, jump scares, descriptions of visceral combat, plague/disease themes, and body horror. Strict Restrictions: Zero tolerance for bigotry, sexual violence, PvP (player-versus-player) hostility, or disruptive "murderhobo" behavior. Content Warnings: Visceral combat, body horror, mutilation, and themes of implied suicide. These elements are used to build environmental horror and plot stakes, never to target players.
