About the adventure

Forged with the purpose of expanding the access to education and expand the training curriculum. Previously, most education was done by a master. Said master could open a guild and offer classes to many apprentices, but these schools would only educate their pupils on a single subjects. The Grand Guild University began the tradition for an institution to warrant a mingling of guild customs, starting with Scholarly Academics, Arcane Arts, and Monastic Practices. These disciplines eventually grew to include the disciplines that the University offers now. As the University’s popularity grew, other institutions, like The Embercrest Academy, began to allow teachings of many disciplines in addition to the traditional Arts they had previously taught. Embercrest is still the leading Arcane Institution in the western world, though GGU is quickly approaching their heels. Maybe the next tournament will prove the Arcane Prowess of the Grand Guild University. The Discipline that GGU currently offers are Academic, Adroit, Arcane, Communication, Martial, Monastic, Nexian, and Physic. Each of these disciplines has a Master who oversees the practices of the discipline as well as lead lectures and issue challenges and ensure that students are practicing said discipline safely. In order to present such a variety of disciplines at the university, the campus is spread out over a 500 Acre Campus. This does not include the massive Archive building that is speculated to burrow thousands of subterranean kilometers. It also does not include many of the off campus student housing buildings located throughout the City of Cartya. For generations, education was scarcely available to those of low birth. Without the privilege of a name or the fortune of a vast wealth, the prospects of elevating ones knowledge was nearly unachievable. That is until the Grand Guild University established a Merit Based Tuition. A system where, rather than ones house paying a vast sum of money to the institute, one would be put through an examination process. During this process, would-be students are judged on their academics prowess, merit, and general skill within their desired discipline. They are judged by the head masters and decide weather the students should make it into the trial. Only 100 students make it through the exam and are accepted into the university. They are given placements based on how well they have done. The higher they place, the less tuition they have to pay. Their placements are displayed on their Uniform for all of the other students to see.

About me

I am the creator of the indie ttrpg company Fateless Legacies. I am her to run interested players through the exiting and immersive worlds within the many systems I design and create with the help of many wonderful artists and writers. Fateless Legacies products are proudly human made and will stay that way. My hope is that you will take the wonderful adventures you had within these mini campaigns I will be running and bring them with you to your other tables. I hope that you will share your experiences using the Fateless Legacies system with your other groups and continue running these games after. Word of mouth might not be the most effective form of advertising and growing a business, but I have hope that together we prove that shilling out to corporate overlords is not the only way to produce a worthwhile game. So join me. Become Fateless. Become a Legacy. Start your story today

Character creation

Creating your character

We will work together as a group to build characters and create protagonists that will share the spotlight in the story well. Prior to the session 0, read through the core rulebook pdf and come up with a protagonist back story and personality based on the parameters of the setting. Then we can get together for the session 0 and work together to build a cohesive party. Once everyone works out their character personality, backstory, and connections with other protagonists or NPCs, I will work with each player one on one to fully create their protagonist using the core rulebook. The Parameters: The university is a place to continue one’s education beyond that of what your character’ previous master taught them. Unless they didn’t have a previous master. In which case you need to come up with how they learned what they know now. You’ll also need to come up with a reason why the university found your character, and why your character wants to attend the school. Your character will be starting out as a relatively unaccomplished individual. With the intentions that they’ll become accomplished at the school. Your character can be high born, but for one reason or another, they won’t have access to their parent’s wealth. Your characters will each receive a letter explaining that the school is interested in having them take the entrance exams. That is where the session 0 ends and then we can begin session 1.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Spend some time before session 0 familiarizing yourself with the rules of the Aurora Punk system. Feel free to reach out to me about any questions you might have. Download the PDF of the core rulebook. You will need a mic, decent internet connection, and it would be nice if you had a webcam as well but that isn't required. You will also need a Discord account, as that is where we will run the session. I will expect that you will Come up with a general character idea before session 0 with the understanding that you will need to be able to fit said character in with the rest of the group.

What Cherry brings to the table

All system and setting content for Aurora Punk, Artistic ability (Tokens, maps, icons and references), Adobe audio for music and sounds, Narrator and storytelling abilities. As a storyteller, narrator, and game master, I like to weave the world around the protagonists of the story in a way that makes them feel like they are immersed in a thriving and lived-in world. In order to achieve this I fill my settings with unique and interesting characters for the protagonists to interact with, rich lore to learn and unveil, and challenges that will keep players engaged and interacting. And yes, I do character voices and am quite good at it, haha. I draw a lot of inspiration from the books I read and the media I consume. Media like Comics, Anime, Fantasy Novels, and heraldic stories. I allow this media to influence my storytelling abilities. Subtle References to said media isn't uncommon, but I try not to let it break immersion if I can help it.

Safety

How Cherry creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety is extremely important around the table. making sure everyone feels safe with he story that is being told is essential to any kind of storytelling. Fist and foremost, before the game/ at session 0, we will discuss anything we specifically want to avoid being a topic within the game and story. I've hit all the tags that I think might come up within the story. But if there is anything that we wish to farther discuss I am willing and open to it. If anything comes up that might be cause for discomfort during the game or seems like it might be heading to dicey territory (pun intended) then by all means, reach out to me in PM or use XNO in chat if you're okay with that. After every session will take some time to give feedback, discuss pros and cons of the session, and just chat about how the session went. I tend to get caught up in the RP, so if ever we need to take a break, let me know and I'll be happy to break game for 10-20 minutes.
