About the adventure
Garkodia is a PTU game filled with high octane pressure situations, lots of conflict, and combat with extremely powerful villains. While there is a traditional Pokemon league for you to conquer, it's more of a backdrop rather than the main campaign focus. The plot primarily focuses on your attempts to topple the villains controlling the plot, or your attempts to negotiate with and placate them. By comparison to the standard Pokemon game, you will commonly be fighting in life or death combat and be coming out by the skin of your teeth, rather than a happy go lucky adventure. It's up to the players to determine whether they want to fit in with a world full of people viewing Pokemon as tools for money and power, or if they want to hold those people accountable.

About me
My GMing style is to improvise to player's choices as much as possible in any given moment, giving a feeling that the world is truly alive and making player choices meaningful. My NPCs respond to player choices very actively and won't forget what the players did, while having larger than life personalities that players have to find ways to navigate around. Because I do not have a strict script with my games, I consider it my job to find as much character driven conflict as possible to keep the narrative and session to session gameplay interesting. I will always be building up to multiple threats players have to overcome, whether it's a bigger overarching one or something more immediate in the session. I regularly think of things from the the perspective of antagonistic NPCs, seeing how they might respond to the player's action to set up the next scenario. I regularly want to give players the feeling of accomplishment as they come out of sessions, while still respecting their choices to do what they want.

Creating your character
You start with a level 4 trainer and 2 level 20 Pokemon, with it being mandatory to have a combat class. Further rules can be found upon joining the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game is played on Foundry Virtual Tabletop. This is done in a browser. Voice chat is done through discord, as well as a lot of reference material in the text channels. You will need Discord and a mic. I will explain necessary mechanics during session 0, and help players continue to get up to speed on the mechanical side during the first session. I will be available for continued assistance and character creation issues.
What Warlord brings to the table
I bring over ten years of experience with Pokémon Tabletop Adventures, custom maps, and homebrew mechanics. We will play on Foundry Virtual Tabletop with my subscription to it. I voice all NPCs for a fully immersive experience, adding atmospheric music for key moments. This is a high-stakes game where creative role-play, strategic combat, and personal choices shape the world around you. Combat sticks primarily to the mechanical rules, but exceptions for things can be made to fit the RP better.

How Warlord creates a safe table
Session 0: I will give time to each player, either together or individually as time allows, primarily focusing on assisting with character creation and getting any new players used to Pokemon Tabletop United and Foundry. During Session 0, we will also go over personal lines and veils for each player. I will be available regularly to help with character creation before and after session 0, and it is also recommended to work on character creation during session 0. Lines and Veils: During session 0, lines and veils can be outlined for what things you do not want to appear in the campaign, and to only be in the background. In the campaign's discord channel, there will be a place where you can also choose to add or remove triggering things you don't want to appear in the campaign at any such time. Stars and Wishes: There will be a channel in the discord server for the campaign for feedback and requests. Here, you can put what you especially enjoyed about sessions and want to see more of, as well as wishes for what you want to see in the future and directions for future sessions.
