About the adventure

You are a group of adventurers for hire. You have been hired by a wealthy merchant to keep him and his product safe as he travels through the woods to the town of DarkHill. Once in DarkHill you will see they have their own problems that need solving. People are going missing and no one knows why. What you do know is, they will probably pay handsomely for someone to find out.

About me

I love TTRPGs! I have been playing D&D and other TTRPGs for about 15 years, I have been GMing for the last 6 years, and I have been GMing professionally for the last 2 years. I already work as a GM for three companies (Wizard Staffing Co, Rough Magic, and Chicago Role Players' Guild) but I wanted to expand my reach into the online world. In my years of GMing I have found that I really enjoy facilitating fun experiences for others and I love telling stories collaboratively. I went to collage to study acting and voiceover and I like to use what I learned along with my over 15 years of improv training to bring my stories and NPCs to life. I also use what I learned as an improv teacher to teach GMing workshops and offer private GMing coaching. I am friendly and respectful and so excited to GM for cool people!

Character creation

Creating your character

I have pre-made character sheets if you want to use one. They are Level 5. Otherwise you can make your own level 5 character using any official methods. You will want to come to the session with it already made. You can message me about third party books and stuff like that.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account and to add me as a friend so I can add you to the group chat where we will do the video call for the game.

What Ben Guest brings to the table

I just want everyone to have fun. I follow the rules when they are working to provide structure and I will bend or break them when they get in the way of the fun. I like to do character voices and use my acting background to make my narrations and descriptions as immersive as possible. My games tend to be combat and skill check heavy but you will have plenty of opportunity to role-play as well.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a bonus action.

Safety

How Ben Guest creates a safe table

We will discuss what everyone's Lines and Veils are at the beginning of the session. During a session someone can pause the game with an x card by making an x with their hands. We will also take a break part way through the session and can talk about the session to decompress afterward.
