About the adventure

The year is 2245 and the Wastes get smaller every day. When a big-shot from the mob-city of New Reno offers a truly wondrous payout to plunder an old military bunker in Washington, it's too good an offer to pass up. Trekking north from southern Oregon in a post-modern gold rush, you'll soon find the old world isn't so easily stripped bare... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Evergreen Armies is a campaign that intends to ooze the atmospheric and dark--yet not humorless--world of Fallout 1 and 2. Food and water are important travel resources, friends are rare, ammo rarer, and the cold doesn't care how well you can fight. The party travels on a hex based map throughout Cascadia, and maybe even beyond, on the first expedition to Washington in living memory. Combat is a savage thing that will stretch a character to their limits and put their mind to the test, but will never be truly unfair. And those that you do meet up north have stories aplenty for any willing to listen, making the journey just as... odd, and dangerous, as the destination. Survival isn't guaranteed, but it never is in the wastes, and at least this time the risk has a paycheck involved (even if you have to deal with your traveling companions all the while). The Wasteland needs its folktales. Do you intend to write some with us?

About me

Heya! I'm Malachi! I am a forever GM who wants to bring y'all into the this wonderful hobby, or just help ya do said hobby! I got started on TTRPG's during a time when I was very anti-social and in a rather dark spot. My brother convinced me to try out a Curse of Strahd game at a hobby store near us. Needless to say I fell in love After that campaign was over I started a TTRPG club at my Highschool, and in a online RP sever, GM'ing clicked with me like nothing else, and bringing folks into the hobby is something truly special. Now? I hope to give others the same love for this wonderful amazing hobby as I have grown to hold! (And maybe get the funds for even more game-books while doing it)

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be starting at level 1 near the northern border of the NCR You will get access to everything needed to create a character, we will be doing so, and playing, in foundry, all core and supplementary materials will be available for you to use in character crafting, and I am VERY flexible when it comes to homebrew and customization of your characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account and an internet connection to join this game, (and I would also recommend just about any free PDF viewer), but so long as you have that, you are good to go! You will be given anything and everything else to play! (Via google drive.) Our meeting place will be a discord server, which you will be invited to. We will be using Foundry for much of our needs, and don't worry if you have never used the site before, I will make sure you are set up properly. You will notice that in equipment there is no microphone, this is intentional. I have ran games for all sorts of folk, and text based entities are very welcome, whether you are shy, can't use/don't have a mic, or just like typing better.

What Malachi brings to the table

You will be given anything and everything you to play Fallout 2d20! (Including supplementary books, and various aides I can find) Along with a Foundry VTT setup to explore. I will bring (optional) ambient music for most situations. As for rules, expect rule of cool and a focus on smooth ease, rather than the book or bust. Combat will be tough, often risky, and always needing a keen mind, but never a truly unfair situation. Exploration will be tense and often spooky, but rewarding. And intriguers and thinkers will be given quite a bit to dwell on, as not everything is what it seems... I hope to bring y'all a grand ol' time!

Homebrew rules

The survival elements of the game will be present, but light, and while this is no OSR style game this is still a wasteland, toss junk at your own peril, but don't worry about crafting every little thing Any Perks/general perquisites will be very flexible, as long as you can convince me of your scheme/epic flavor. (Will discuss further in session 0) Homebrew will be run by on a case by case basis, but a list full of great pre-made stuff will be given, and anything that interests you can be brought in with a small discussion.

Safety

How Malachi creates a safe table

Player comfort is my utmost priority, as it always should be! Our aftercare will usually just be a quick check up at the end of session. An open feedback form will also be available. And simplest, tell me any no's you encounter privately, never be afraid to do so, and never be afraid to pull me aside.
