About the adventure
In the continent of Aurumitum Draconic overlords rule over the lands demanding tribute from all who live under them. Dragons who are cruel, capricious and want powerful people to raise their young? Using the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2e rules, explore this set of dukedoms and explore a hand crafted world to rise in power either going along with the current world order to rise to power easier or to destroy it and bring an end to its reign bringing with it a long and painful war against dragons and eventually bring an end to the Tyrant King of the Dragons breaking his hold. The irony is that the only real change between a draconian tyrant of the mortal races and a draconian tyrant that is a dragon is that dragons actually value the work of their citizens to contribute to their hoards. Can you really trust any rebellion to make a better world? Run as far as you can, but power invites scrutiny, and the wish to control you. Rise the ranks until a Dragon trusts you as a tool to run their Dukedom, or Barony. Raze the whole of the world to the ground in dragon fire as you destroy the ruling government of the entire continent.

About me
I have been playing tabletop games since highschool and haven't really stopped since! I love the amazing stories told within the complex and simple player actions the unwinding tales of clarity of intention in action along with the deep narrative hooks that draw everyone deeper. I am a reader and writer at heart and I want to know every possible story there is from the cliche given a new form or setting, or the novel pulled from the nothing, and all variations in-between. I want to hear and see it and I want that journey others. I will often refer to rules for wanting to do things, but am willing to improvise!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
On the roll20 I have set up I will have players roll stats and have documented their character creation. I will prefer to be there. The original straight 3d6 per stat rule will be in place with a few extra caveats. If a character rolls all 1's for a 3 I will allow a free reroll once, and after all stats are rolled a player may reroll one die or a whole stat can be rerolled. for example if a player rolls a 2, 3, 3 for a 8 they may wish to reroll the whole set or just choose to reroll the 2 and be safer since it likely won't be worse than a 2.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will get a discord link to players and on the discord there will be a roll20 link. Players should familiarize themselves with AD&D 2e rules and verbiage, I will provide copies of essential materials if requested by players. I will guide players to what they may need to look at if they aren't familiar. If players completely have no idea and need to be taught I am willing and able to get players up to speed just direct message me on Discord to figure out when we should discuss this. If you join later I will be able to still give you this help, but it may be good for players to let me know how much they already know before hand so I know what to lead them to rules wise!
What Scholar brings to the table
I provide a complete experience where the game itself will not require heavy combat but what combat I do run is usually tactical and thoughtful. I love running numbers. Players who wish to do something in the world I am making will find that I will be perfectly accommodating as according to the setting itself, and I endeavor to make each player's personal story shine. I am very good at making players carefully consider how they must go forwards.
Homebrew rules
Some rules will be things I will be adding from separate 2e books some will options for players: Added rules: Spell points from Player's options: Spells and Magic, Attribute Increase, Proficiencies (Yes it was optional back then) Optional rules will be available for players such as Character creation options (points to buy extra traits for your class, or race) , optional combat rules from all of the additional players handbooks (some starting kits are going to be vetoed unfortunately)

How Scholar creates a safe table
I will set up a session 0 where players will be told in further detail about what will be happening in the game and in that session zero I will ask for lines and veils from players either right then or in private at a later date or some document they already have. If there is an issue I don't mind stopping to address it in the middle of game sessions although I don't prefer that obviously.
