About me
Hi, My Name, is Franklin West I'm 28 and I've been playing TTRPG's for close to 16 years on and off now and, DM/GM'd for 5 of those years and I've come to deeply enjoy it. Even as a young kid I loved consuming Sci-fi and, Fantasy as much as possible so when I was introduced to D&D as teenager it really left its impression on me. Now over the last 5 years have come to DM/GM for newer players to the Hobbie of TTRPG's rather than being a player. While it's lot more work to tell a story as a GM/DM I've come to enjoy it more with each year of experience! The fun of unwrapping a new world with my players to see all the little details that make a TTRPG a unique experience is what I wish to continue here within this community to reach more new players looking to explore D&D or, other systems of play.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
-Character creation is simple and easy to understand and will be held with each other at session 0. -min maxing is not recommended here as character creation due to the random tables used in creation and the how the system makes you roll for stats. - The cursed Caribbean isles are deadly, and player death can be common. That's okay! players may choose to come back as undead or roll up a new pirate after all the isles are lousy with them! - I do encourage players to pick the class of seafarer they connect too for the most fun out of your seaside adventure!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
-I do ask all my players to join a discord for voice chat during the game, as well as the main way the crew of players can keep up with each other between sessions. - I also ask all players to log in to alchemy (its free) for are stunning moving visuals, players sheets, dice, references and more!
What Franklin West brings to the table
- A Beautiful VTT with stunning moving scenes, Music, and sounds to bring you as close to the Dark Caribbean as possible! - A DM that will voice every pirate and NPC you will come across in your journey with the fever of an old sea dog! -Maps, reference guides and all the tools to make the game as easy for new players as possible. - 6 pre-made Crew mates for those who want to try them!
Homebrew rules
We will be using the optional rule for naval combat: In irons as it adds to the difficulty and unpredictability of the open ocean combat!

How Franklin West creates a safe table
Alchemy has a built in X-card for situations players or myself feel uncomfortable with. N&O's can be posted to the journal in the VTT to help guide the narrative by expressing interest or lack thereof.
