About the adventure

New Campaign Concept: According to the gods, the Mage Wars were a time when the arrogance of mortals consumed them. The mortals version of things include an end to obeying the reckless whims of the gods. In either case, much of humanity waged war with the gods; powerful wizards and legendary warriors fought in immense battles that left scars on the world - echoes of magic. When the dust settled half a dozen gods and countless mortal lives were lost. In the aftermath; either as a punishment to mankind or for fear of further insurrection, the gods left the world. Only Donwen, the impartial unreachable god of knowledge remained. It is said there is a beacon which can be lit that will call new gods to the world. Some argue it must be found. Others revel in their freedom from the fates of deities. Still more find power, faith, and worship in other strange immortal beings. There is validity to both viewpoints but it cannot be denied that in the absence of the pantheon the world is a very dangerous place.

About me

When the last D20 is rolled the world will end. I've been sent back in time to reverse this through Dungeons and Dragons. Together we can save the world. I bring storylines that adapt to the players and love creative thinkers. I run a sandbox, narrative, and roleplay heavy(ish) custom setting with probably one combat or challenge encounter per session unless the players are dictating otherwise. I’m not really big on one-shots, my passion lies in campaigns. The ongoing epic stories the players guide and participate in makes for some amazing memories. I look forward to making new memories with my players. (No racists or homophobes need apply. LGBT+ friendly, all inclusive, people of all walks of life welcome. I love everyone and you should too.) Character creation

Creating your character

Standard Array +2. Take the standard array... But you can assign two more to any ability score of your choice (or assign one more to two ability scores).

The current party

The party consists of a pretty laid back roleplay group. Be prepared to have fun first and foremost. Roleplay heavy - there might not be combat every session.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord and Roll20. A microphone and headphones. For character sheets you can use any format you're comfortable with. If you're using DNDBeyond be prepared for custom items.

What Ben brings to the table

I provide a space for ample roleplay, a general positive attitude, and hopefully a good time. The rules are guidelines and while I try to get them right, it's often more important that the story continue than it is to spend time figuring out exactly what is right according to RAW (rules as written).

Homebrew rules

Potions are a bonus action. Drawing a new weapon (as long as you drop the old one) is a bonus action. Flanking gives advantage. Crits take max possible damage and then roll the dice again.
