About the adventure
The Lost Mine of Phandelver is the perfect starting adventure for new players to learn how to play D&D! As an AFAB non-binary 30+ year old, I understand that it can be quite difficult to find groups of D&D players that share similar life experiences with you. This is why I want to offer my services as a DM for LGBT+ people, so that I can create a safe, friendly and supportive environment of play. This support extends to POC, neurodivergent people, those with disabilities and health conditions, and other marginalised groups. Allies are also 100% welcome, but please consider putting others first if needs be. Any hate or aggression will not be tolerated. A bit about myself: I have been playing and running D&D since 2015. For about 7 years, I was an English teacher for 16+ year olds. It was a fantastic time and I appreciate and love teaching very much. However, my mental health took a nosedive and exacerbated my autism (I had been previously described as extremely "high-functioning"). Now, I am unable to work and this makes me very unsettled - which is why I'm doing this! Help me make some money so that I can improve my living situation while providing a HIGH quality beginners game for you! You and your group can expect me to put a LOT of effort into this! I currently run 2 campaigns a week I have successfully completed and concluded 5 long-term campaigns.

About me
Hey, I’m Jenna, 34, I've been an English teacher for seven years and have been playing D&D 5e since it came out. I’ve been a forever-DM for most of that time, running weekly games that focus on collaborative storytelling, immersion and roleplay. I love helping to create stories where every character has their moment to shine and feels deeply woven into the world. I believe in creating inclusive, fair, and welcoming spaces where everyone feels heard and valued—no drama, just good vibes. If you’re a beginner, no worries; I’m all about helping players learn and grow in the game.

Creating your character
We will be creating characters and running the game on Roll20 and we will make them all together in session 0. You are not expected to know anything about D&D prior to joining, so don't worry about this!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need Discord and Roll20 to play. A good quality microphone and a quiet playing environment is essential, as I am sensitive to unpleasant noises. Please do not join if there are people in your house who shout/scream in the background.
What Jenna Abbott brings to the table
I care about D&D more than most things in my life. Studying and teaching English Literature, Creative Writing and the like, I care very much about storytelling, handling characters with respect and treating things with a good level of sincerety. I do put on distinct voices, so that you can tell the NPCs apart easily and give them character, but I am NOT an actor/voice actor and you shouldn't worry about that, either. I enjoy using music and other things to increase immersion and I enjoy well-balanced, fair combat and rich roleplay driven narrative beats. I do LIKE the Rule of Cool, but this shouldn't be exploited. Rules as Written make the game fair!
Homebrew rules
I tend to give my NPCs "death saving throws", which means that when they hit 0hp, they dont automatically die like they should. You still have a chance to save them!
