About the adventure

This Learn to Play game is designed as an fun introduction to being a Pirate. • No need for read the rules. • The pre-made characters are waiting for you. • I'll give you advice and ideas if you get stuck. You've just docked at Coral Town a small port on a small island, which you'll be free explore. • There are people to help... and you'll help them understand you're a pirate. • Places to visit, like Skeleton Point Castle, which really needs looting. And being the brave Pirates you are, you'll take it all in your stride. PIRATE BORG, is anything but a cosy friendly game, lots of fun to play, is a cut throat place where being a salty old sea dog, means you're at home. If you should meet a young Jack Sparrow... run!

About me

Hey there, I'm Japes (jay-ps), your Game Master and the person responsible for bringing the games together. In running role play games, I’ve seen one thing players laugh about more than anything else, and that’s the unexpected outcomes. The fumbled roll, the gloriously ludicrous idea that somehow works, the NPC everyone decides to adopt. Games work best, when you put your ideas into the cooking pot and give it a gentle stir, and then the world can reacts to them. At the heart of it, I feel it's the escapism of fantasy adventures that we're all here for. The times I enjoy most, are where you’re going with that wonderful idea you had and I can watch for a bit. Every table I run is a safe, creative space. To do this best, all I ask is that we're courteous to each other, whether you're playing a 1920s FBI agent in a Cthulhu Mythos romp, or a piece of Sapient Pearwood in Discworld, or a Fairy Barbarian growling at enemies as you fly over the wizard's head. Play it like you mean it. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Come join us at the table.

Character creation

Creating your character

You'll be using pre-made characters who are perfect for this short adventures and be able to read through the character details on Discord and I'm happy to discuss them further.

What to expect

What Japes brings to the table

As needed I’ll guide you through the game mechanics as we play. Some voices to the table as I roleplay the NPCs and love it when players do too. Colour hand drawn maps and many great features of FoundryVTT. Background music, the volume is controllable by you. Storytelling that will bring the narrative suspense to the table. A sprinkle of dry humour that adds a unique flavour.
