About the adventure

GRAVENREACH: AGE OF DISCOVERY $12 Your Choices Will Shape a Continent and Forge Its Future D&D 5E (2024) | Level 5 | Adventure, Discovery & Intrigue US$12 per session thereafter An epic DnD 5E (2024) homebrew campaign of exploration, survival, and conquest, led by a veteran old-school DM. This new chapter of the Gravenreach saga begins as your expedition prepares to sail for the fabled eastern continent. No prior knowledge of Gravenreach Chapter 1 is required. Currently gathered around our campfire are: • Tully, High Elf Moon Druid whose lion form terrifies enemies but still rarely wins an argument with the dice gods. • Xaran, Dragonborn Barbarian, undisputed champion of "charge first, discuss later" and firm believer that most every problem can be solved by hitting it harder. • Rallick, Wood Elf Paladin, fearless scout, noble champion, and devoted protector of damsels in distress (whether they asked for it or not). • Brocc, Gnome Sorcerer, silver-tongued negotiator who can talk his way into (and out of) almost anything, provided nobody makes a short joke first. • Gromdara, Orc Cleric, happily patches up broken bones, bruised egos, and occasionally the party's questionable decisions. A voyage into legend is about to begin. Far to the East lies Gravenreach, a vast continent rediscovered after centuries as little more than legend. Compete with rivals. Forge alliances. Seize opportunities. Shape the future. Kings, merchant princes, churches, noble houses, and adventurers now race to claim influence in this new frontier. Lost kingdoms, forgotten magic, fearsome monsters, and untold dangers stand between them and their ambitions. The city of Tinkerhaven is alive with the Grand Embarkation, a twelve-day festival celebrating the departure of expeditions. You begin as champions of Lady Elowen, rightful heir to the nation of Feldour. Her homeland divided by civil war, she looks abroad for allies and opportunity. As her champions, you will advance her cause while pursuing ambitions of your own. Within the week the ships sail. You will be aboard one of them. Your rivals will be aboard the others. The frontier is already contested. Powerful empires, ambitious patrons, and rival expeditions have all set their sights on Gravenreach. Beyond the horizon lie opportunity, danger, intrigue, and the chance to help shape the future of an entire continent. What to Expect • Exploration and discovery • Rich roleplaying opportunities and memorable NPCs • Epic and challenging combats • Meaningful player choices with lasting consequences Character Creation • Level 5 characters • D&D 5E (2024 Rules) • Standard Array or 27 Point Buy • Free Origin Feat (if not already granted) • Milestone Levelling About the DM Veteran DM with 40+ years of experience running immersive sandbox campaigns filled with memorable NPCs, meaningful choices, and adventures shaped by player decisions. About me

Old school DnD GM. Over 40 years of experience, mostly face-to-face but also several online long-term (1+ year) campaigns. Creative homebrew campaigns with imagination, interesting challenges, villains, rewards, plot-twists, with the goal of enjoyment for everyone! Looking for mature players who seek a traditional old-school game using the more traditional official races and classes rather than robot unicorns with guns and psionics. if you are looking to play an exotic character, we can possibly discuss some options. Roleplaying strongly encouraged. Min/max spotlight hogging discouraged (let's work together and let everyone shine and have fun). Reasonable 'rule of cool' playstyle rather than strict RAW 'rule police' style of game. Long term campaigns starting at level 1 and working up towards 20. Expect levels 1-3 to level up fast, then levels 4+ to slow down a bit. Good balance of roleplaying, combat and exploration. There will be some puzzles, but more of a campaign plot style rather than fiddly traps and levers and number/word games. If this style interests you then get your game on and join!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Welcome aboard, adventurer — you’re about to set sail for Gravenreach, a living frontier filled with danger, discovery, and hard choices. To ensure your expedition begins smoothly, please follow the preparation steps below. This campaign uses: [Roll20] – for maps, dice rolling, and combat. [Discord] – for voice chat and between-session coordination. You’ll be invited to the campaign’s dedicated server after signup.

What Ronnor brings to the table

I bring over 40 years of DMing experience to the table — decades of storytelling, worldbuilding, and improvisation honed across every edition of D&D. My goal is to create a living, breathing world that reacts to player choices, rewards creativity, and feels genuinely alive. Storytelling & Roleplay Expect deep immersion, memorable NPCs, and a world that changes because of your actions. I use distinct character voices, immersive narration, and reactive dialogue to make every interaction feel personal. You’ll meet scheming nobles, haunted explorers, eccentric sailors, and strange beings older than history. Your backstories aren’t just filler — they become the threads that shape Gravenreach’s fate. Whether you’re chasing redemption, power, or freedom, the world will respond to you. Combat & Challenge Combat in this campaign is tactical, tense, and cinematic. I balance realism with flow — Rules as Written where it matters, Rule of Cool when it enhances the story. Expect meaningful fights, environmental hazards, and the occasional moral dilemma about when not to draw your blade. Encounters are designed for smart play, teamwork, and creativity — not just dice rolls. Expect battles on storm-tossed ships, in ruined citadels, and against creatures that defy logic. Exploration & Consequence This campaign is built around player-driven exploration and survival in a hostile frontier. You’ll chart coastlines, uncover ruins, forge alliances, and decide whether your expedition serves its patron — or defies them. Every session pushes the story forward: new discoveries, new dangers, and new choices that reshape the world. Choices have weight — what you do in Session 2 may echo back in Session 20.
