About me

There is a rhythm to a good game. You can hear it in the dice, in the pauses between decisions, in the way people slip into character without even realizing it. That is where stories live, as I sit behind the screen to narrate them. Hi, I am Davide. I have been running games for more than two decades, and I love building stories that can linger long after the final roll in the form of friendships and memories. My love for storytelling began with my father’s voice. He had a way of narrating tales that filled a room with magic. Every pause, every glance, every word carried meaning. That feeling never left me, and it is what I have been chasing ever since, to recreate that sense of wonder at the table. As a parent raising a Neurodivergent child, I have learned to listen with more than just ears. Patience and empathy have become part of who I am and taught me how much people sometimes need a moment away from everything life has decided to throw in our direction. That is what running a game means to me: offering a space where imagination can flourish. A space where time slows down just enough for our inner child to step forward and play again.

Creating your character

Character creation: SESSION 0 Characters can be created beforehand. However, is during Session where we make sure the group itself jives. We’ll take time to get to know each other, set the campaign tone, discuss any triggers or boundaries everyone should be aware of. Long campaigns work best when players trust each other, share the spotlight, and enjoy the story as a group. I’ve seen people become real-life friends through my games, and even seen couples form. Those one of a kind experiences happen when the table is truly compatible. The game is the vehicle. The table is what makes it memorable, and I take pride in creating that kind of space.

Before we begin, please make sure you have: A free Sqyre account, as the game is hosted on Foundry through Sqyre. A Discord account for voice chat and session coordination. A working microphone, plus a quiet space or push-to-talk enabled. A stable internet connection, since Foundry works best with consistent bandwidth. A computer capable of running Foundry VTT in a browser. Chrome or Firefox or Foundry Light Client. Not Compulsory Pathbuilder 2e paid version for character creation and progression.

🏛️ Kingdom Rules Kingmaker’s original kingdom management rules are widely known to be dense and poorly tested, often adding bookkeeping without the fun. Depending on the table, we will either use improved homebrew rules or remove them entirely. The focus will stay on leadership, choices, consequences, politics, and most importantly, the story of the kingdom you are going to build.

How Firehouse Games creates a safe table

Safety I use a simple but effective safety setup built around Session 0, breaks, and debriefing. During Session 0, we’ll talk about expectations, tone, boundaries, and any themes players want to avoid. You can share anything publicly or message me privately. During play, anyone can step away if needed, as long as it does not disrupt the rest of the table. We will also take a 10-minute break around the middle of each session. At the end of each session, we take a quick debrief to check how the game felt, what needs adjusting, and let any intense moments settle. My goal is to create a table where players feel respected, comfortable, and able to enjoy the campaign together.
