About the adventure

Wysteria is a peaceful land made of 5 gorgeous regions that live in harmony. In the center of this great fertile land sits the ancient Wyst tree: A giant golden tree made of large twisted roots that reaches up to the sky and eternally glows a shining beacon at all hours of the day. All of the regions work in strong community to keep the Wyst tree strong and healthy. It's the only thing protecting the people from an ever encroaching force called the blyte. The Blyte is a darkness that lives on the borders of Wysteria. It creeps in and kills all it touches. There are exterminators and watchman posted all along the borders to keep an eye on it and keep the borders back. But lately they seem to be pushing forwards. People are going missing, pets taken. The whispers grow on the outskirts. But in central city all is (b)right with the world. Tabloids continue their petty gossip of the latest drama around huge celebrity chefs and the Mayor continues to act as if nothing is happening at all. Can you discover what's really going on in this utopia? And can you do it in time enough to save it? Run in a homebrew system, "The Wystem" rolling mechanics are similar to Kids on Bikes in that each trait has a dice size assigned to it. It is quick and easy to learn. There are playbooks/ classes that are themed to a cozy setting such as writer, chef, delivery person etc. The system is built to evoke stories akin to Studio Ghibli.

About me

Itching for adventure and immersive storytelling? Then I'm your GM! A kind fae that would definitely never steal your name, soul, or anything else of the sort, and I resent the accusation! I have a background in theatre and years of playing pretend in the woods, so expect lots of over the top roleplay, whimsy, and lots of in depth worlds! I place a lot of importance on open communication, rule simplifying, and above all else, having a great time. Of course, new players are more than welcome at all of my games! I love building worlds that feel lived in, with a lot of culture and many individual characters. I also LOVE taking the ideas my players give me, and running with them. So don't be surprised when that one small joke you made during character creation comes back at a large scale in the story! I am flexible, adapt to my player's needs and put great effort in my games. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Character creation

Creating your character

Once you are signed up we will have a call to go over character creation and the world. The character sheet and a reference document will be provided to help you understand the rules and creation process quickly that you can reference throughout the game. In the meantime think about what playbook would be interesting to play: Author Chef Exterminator (Frontman to killing the Blyte) Farmer Fisherman Gladiator (Cop) Guild Runner (Delivery Person) Watchman (Sits in isolated towers reading books and watching the border)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Think of what kind of character you would like to explore and be prepared for an RP heavy game! Have discord and once you are signed up, you will be provided the link to my discord where you can talk to other players and I will give you the character creation documents.

What Alex Teatime brings to the table

I am a high energy GM that loves in depth Role Play. I bring lots of character voices, maps and music to the table to help you feel like you are really there in the world. I also provided digital dice in the server for those who don't have physical ones. I always start games off with going over safety tools and character relationship questions so everyone at the table feels safe and able to jump into their characters and RP with ease. I love playing with new and veteran players so any and every level is accepted!

Homebrew rules

A document with all of the rules will be provided as well as a cheat sheet attached to the character sheet so you can reference the rules quickly.

Safety

How Alex Teatime creates a safe table

I use lines and veils, which will be gone over at character creation and again at session 0 to make sure everyone feels safe. In addition to that you can always feel free to message or say something during game play if you're feeling uncomfortable. This game won't have a lot of intense description but there will be some light plant related body horror at times.
