About the adventure

This game is for players interested in a serious 18+ Curse of Strahd setting, where the story is richer and you will not be driven on a tour of the land of Barovia instead you will be both pursued across it and find it within yourself to become the hunters or perish within the jaws of the Tyrant of Barovia, the thirsting one, she who claims all that is beautiful and true and corrupts it to join her in the corruption and ruination of all that muster up the spark of hope in this land of terror.

About me

I go by Shodan, I'm LGBTQ+ friendly I don't have any negative feelings for any groups of people that I feel often haunts online games where the players and the dm do not know each other well enough and I do my best to be not let politics or controversial subjects into any game I run. I've been dungeon mastering for twenty years across six+game systems I believe in allowing players to be creative while enforcing the rules in a fair unbiased fashion and working with my players to tell their story, some dms call themselves story tellers but I tend to think of that as limiting after all we are working together to tell the story so it's as much mine as it is my players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Stat rolling will be done during session 0. Players will roll two sets of stats on roll20 using a provided Macro. They will be allowed to choose between the two sets. if a player wishes they may take a single stat rolled from either set and swap it with a stat from the other set. Characters will begin at level 1. Tasha's Cauldron is a suggested book in addition to the players handbook. Characters will either receive a feat provided by their background Or be given a choice between the following feats for at level 1. Skilled. Tough. Magic Initiate. Healer.

The current party

The party does not need to be "Balanced" for base of curse of Strahd, Play the characters you want and I'll see to the balancing.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A roll20 account and joining the hosted game. A discord account to join the chat.

What Shodan brings to the table

I do character voices Ambient music as well as battle music will be part of sessions, I allow creative solutions not just rules as written though I run a game where knowing the rules as written is very much rewarded. Homebrew material may be permitted If I think it is fair and balanced though I hold the freedom to modify homebrew material if flaws or imbalance is found later. What you can expect from me as a Dm. I write my own stat blocks for most creatures they are written following all of the rules for creature creation provided and no effects from them take place without proper saving throws. If a player is being effected I will always either make visible the Dc or declare it openly. I roll where my players can see it and always declare what Is taking place for moments like randomized targeting, I dont play favorites but I do play fair.

Homebrew rules

Only homebrew rule is that the homebrew rule that is flanking will not be in effect. replaced by a variant.
