About the adventure

This campaign will, over time, traverse different game systems. 7th Sea will be the beginning, then Household, and, finally, DnD. These changes will happen months apart, and the GM will help provide Players with assistance with the additional game systems. We will venture to save eternity from its end in the process. On Terra, The Ways, Bryn Bresail, and The 7th Sea have been infected with a black, oily substance that spreads through flora and fauna alike. This infection has even spread to some Sidhe(fae) of both courts and thusly into the human world. L'Empereur has sent a small group to find out what it is. In the Outhold, plants have begun to wither as the Domain Contract of The House has been... corrupted. A sickness is spreading through The Drain. The Tsarina has grown concerned about the well-being of her subjects. Argo has returned. On Kaldheim, a strange creature has appeared. Its jaws are as large as a longboat and is slowly turning things into things they are not. It is spreading its oily "perfection" throughout the world, but the gods are working against it. Hopefully, the infection will stop with its death.

About me

Hi, I'm Raven! I am in the process of writing a few books, but I love running 7th Sea and Household. I love learning new things, and am more than willing to work with my Players to tell their story. Like many folks, I started tabletops in college. I was working on getting my Associate's in English Ed, but life had other plans. I usually try to keep the rules lenient, even in rules-heavy systems. I have been working on trying to learn systems outside of 7th Sea, including, but not limited to Call of Cthulhu, Edge of The Empire, The One Ring, and Outgunned. I am still learning the systems, but look forward to GMing them. My games are queer, trans, and disabled person-friendly. (I'm the first two of those things, so it would be really weird if I wasn't inclusive.) I love collaboration, so my players are able to really shape the world around their characters.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation will happen in direct messages and in Character Questions form(s). In each system, the rules are a bit different, but I will go over each one individually. Should a Player build their character without my input, these are the main points... 1. 7th Sea. No Skill may be higher than 3. 2. Household. Build them as Chapter 1 Characters. Everyone will have either a Firearm or a Half Scissor free of charge. - Firearms require a Critical Success (3 matches) or higher in a Dexterity roll to be reloaded. 3. DnD. Stats will be decided by rolls when we build the characters. - You may use the dnd wikidot site for buiding characters, but you need to message me the specific pages you are referencing as some Species had multiple options and most Classes have Unearthed Aracna that I may choose not to use.

What Raven Standefer brings to the table

I will provide character sheets for every system at least two weeks before they begin, should prospective players not join in that timeframe. We will have a "Questions for Character Creation" for each separate system. I will also provide Google Docs for each character in each system in addition to the in-system character sheets. I'll stick to RAW for DnD, however, with 7th Sea and Household, I will happily embrace the Rule of Cool style of playing. This game will likely run high combat, but also embrace the flow of high roleplay, something I enjoy.

Homebrew rules

In 7th Sea, we will add a total of 10 Skill Points, 5 Trait Points, and 10 Advantage Points. Everyone will start with 3 Hero Points, but if they go to 1 Hero Point, it will return to 1 at the start of the next session. For every 2 Raises left over, you will get 1 die on the next Risk. In Household, if a player rolls 5 or 6 dice, and the final total, after all applied Rerolls, ends up with no Successes, a Trainwreck is triggered. A Trainwreck is where something changed in the scene that drastically amplifies the tension. The Narrator/GM might use it as a Heat/Danger Point, a narrative-driven amplification of the tension. Players are more than welcome to share ideas. In DnD, all characters will have a Feat called Voidwalker. That Trait will be shared when we move to 5E.

Safety

How Raven Standefer creates a safe table

In session 0, and in direct messages, should someone join after session 0, we will go over my RPG Consent Checklist, which is slightly more in-depth than the usual Monte Cooke RPG Consent Checklist and talk about what to expect in the story. There will be a Session 0 for each system. Any player is also welcome to message X, N, &/or O in the message thread(s)/channel(s) associated with the group.
