About the adventure
This is a session for all GMs of any roleplaying game. We will explore the nature of ancient and current mythologies in our world and how we relate with them individually and collectively. This includes explorations of the nature of belief, worship and symbolism. The aim of this is to enable you to build the mythological and psychological, divine and spiritual, aspects of your own RPG worlds in ways that are richer and more deeply engaging for your players. The session will be a mix of presentation of ideas by me and Q&A / discussion with the group.

About me
I work as a professional storyteller, mentor and facilitator, and I'm utterly fascinated and enchanted by everything that stories have to offer us. I work with world mythology, fairy stories and folk tales, along with depth psychology (e.g. Carl Jung) to bring their ancestral wisdom to life for us in the present day. As an avid roleplayer I therefore bring a focus on emergent and unfolding story, whether I am GMing or playing a character. On StartPlaying I offer sessions aimed at our growth as GMs (of all systems) and players, to support us to become more confident and to offer richer, more engaging games. I also occasionally offer one-shots and mini-campaign games. You can find out more about my work here: https://www.hearthhold.org/

What to expect
Preparing for the session
There are three main things you can do to prepare well for this session: 1. Consider your own relationship with mythology, religion, belief, worship, spirituality and symbolism. 2. Consider what you would like to get from this session and any specific questions you might have. 3. Come with an open and curious mind, especially with regards to any differences of opinion and experience that you might encounter with others in the session. A working Webcam is extremely helpful for this session, so that we can fully engage and interact with each other, including non-verbal communication. This will help create a safer environment when it is possible that we hold different opinions and experiences. And it will help create a richer experience for you and everyone else.
