About the adventure
Your first year working in a corporate office has felt like high school all over again. You've spent your time in training for your role, learning the cliques and unofficial hierarchies as you go. All the while, you've kept your own secret from your new coworkers: you're not human like they are. Now, your boss has announced your next big hurdle: the annual holiday party. Apparently everyone pitches in to make it perfect, and you will be no exception. However, when everything starts going wrong, can you and your new coworkers find the cause before the holidays become hell for the whole company? An HR-Approved Holiday is a custom mini campaign for Monsterhearts 2 that will span up to 10 sessions. Combine office romance and drama with your favorite supernatural mystery starring you and your party members! Can you survive the horrors of being supernatural in an otherwise mundane world? Only one way to find out! This game is open to those of all ability levels! Whether this is your first time playing Monsterhearts 2 or you're a veteran of the hobby, I'm happy to provide whatever support you need to have fun. My tables are built to be AI-free, respectful of safety tools, and inclusive of those with marginalized identities. If this sounds like your kind of table: welcome! I can't wait to be your MC!

About me
Hello everyone! My name is Emma, and I'm a forever GM of many years who loves to tell meaningful stories with whoever sits at my table! TTRPGs first made an appearance in my life in 2015 when a neighbor invited me to try out Dungeons and Dragons through our high school's gaming club. While half of my first session was spent creating my first ever character, the excitement at the table was infectious. Before long I was hooked, and within two years I was DMing games of my own! Fast forward to today: I am the Founder and Creative Director of the Tabletop Talespinners Network, a TTRPG podcast network whose mission is featuring diverse GMs and players at our tables. I DM two D&D 5e podcasts for the network, and have appeared on multiple livestreams as a GM and player in a multitude of TTRPG systems. Now, I'm hoping to bring that expertise to running games for you! Safety, inclusivity, and fun are my top priorities in any game I run. My tables are always BIMPOC and LGBTQ+ friendly, and players are expected to treat each other with kindness and respect. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and/or body shaming will not be tolerated at the table in or out of game. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope to see you at a table of mine soon!

Creating your character
Players will create their characters with me in session 0! I will make playbook options available for everyone to peruse prior to session, and everyone is encouraged to come in with 1-3 character ideas before making their final selection. Character sheets will be stored in Roll20 for ease of access and tracking.
Session zero for this game is slated for Saturday, July 18th! We'll spend the time leading up to this discussing potential character choices, which will be finalized in session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
In order to play, you will need to have a Discord account set up so that you may join my gaming server. This is where all games will be hosted. All games I run are via voice chat in the Discord server. A microphone with which you can be clearly heard is required. Headphones are preferred, but as long as there is no echo they are not required. I will usually be on camera as the GM, but having your camera on as a player is optional. We will be using Roll20 for character sheets, though we won't be using any maps for this game. Please have an account set up prior to our first session so that you can access the character sheets in session zero.
What Emma brings to the table
As a GM, I bring to the table 9 years of experience alongside 4 years of acting training. I love creating unique and recognizable voices for all NPCs, whether they appear once or return throughout the campaign. My games are heavily focused on roleplay and integrating your character's backstory into the game. Every player and character deserves to have their moment to shine, and I really enjoy allowing players the freedom to do so in any system I run for them! I am primarily a Rule of Cool GM. If there is something you want to do that would enhance the story being told, I will do everything I can to find a way to make it work within the game. If what you're initially asking for is a little too overpowered for me to allow it, I will work with you to find an alternative solution so that your creativity can still be rewarded.

Safety
How Emma creates a safe table
Safety, for me, starts at onboarding. All players will be asked to fill out a brief onboarding form so that I can evaluate your chemistry with both my GM style and the table as a whole. This way, everyone is able to find the right table for them before session 0 rolls around. A google spreadsheet lines and veils form will be provided for players to fill out inside the onboarding form. Since this is a custom campaign, I will be tailoring the content to fit everyone's preferences. During session zero, we will go over all table expectations and safety tools being used, and how they will be implemented during the campaign. Characters will be created together so that everyone may ensure that their backstories align with everyone's safety preferences.
